I want to quit a job for my IM career. Need your Advice !

A classic problem of societal pressure. In many a developing countries a lot of emphasis is given to so called stable jobs does not really matter if its a dead end job for you.

Bro, you have got something real nice going for you. You are in good shape to quit and focus on your marketing. But do check how that's goanna impact your life especially with your family and relatives.

If you could get $80,000 in the bank & say, "mom, dad, I got 25 years of salary in my bank account, I am quitting this job,(then throw them the bank statement)". Watch them gasp, and, then they'll reply, "sonny boy we were just jesting, lets have a drink to your success, (italian toast),salute". LOL.

Thanks for your reply. Well, i am doing online business since 2009 and i am consistently earning $2k a month since 2010 ( almost 3 years)

I have been doing freelancing between 2009-2012 and was providing internet marketing services on freelancing sites. In 2013 i was shifted towards product creation and SEO . And i am still earning the same amount of money on avg i.e. 2$k a month and currently my business is growing quite fast and i am expecting a huge boost in 2014 hopefully.

I have skills, knowledge and confident to construct a new business online if the current one fails. I only need $600-700 monthly to cover my basic needs of life. So for example my current business gone down overnight. I can easily earn $600-$700 per month providing services and doing other simple stuff Because $600 is enough in the country i am living So in case my current business get's down, i am 100% sure and confident that i have the skills and even money to invest to construct a new business and get success.

According to my parents :- That $266 per month from my full time and government job is quite secure. They are saying that my online business is not a solid business and it has huge ups and downs. if you failed some where, then you have nothing to do to support your family. On the other hand, the income from your job is solid and secure.

These are normally very good and prudent questions, but dude come on!

In the first post we learned the person already has 7.5 times the income from the business as from the job, and has been growing it using the same model for the past 5 years (that's a century in Google animal years), and yet has to work 50 hours a week on the job, which s/he says is cutting into the business efforts.

No shiny object here, nor unrealistic dreaming; we don't have to wonder like many times when "should I quit my job" comes up; "will they just flounder and end up playing video games until desperate enough for another job?"

This is not a person asking if they should leap off a cliff. S/he is asking permission to do something which makes obvious sense, but which the family disapproves of.

The disapproval is the only reason not to. Disapproval of others isn't a good enough reason to stay a slave when you have a great life income (considering the place; it has to be third world) developed outside of it, and are poised (having confidence in a model repeated many times successfully), to give it a huge shot in the arm, by multiplying the hours devoted to it without sleep deprivation, which likely is a problem right now.

As far as the stability goes; there are few models more stable than multiple membership sites with recurring fees. If one goes down, there are others, and more are continually being added. If traffic sources fail, there is ample time to develop new ones before attrition pulls the rug out.

Even if the OP somehow managed to screw up everything s/he has successfully built over 5 years, do you think their skills wouldn't be snapped up in a New York minute, were they to come here looking for work for $2.00 an hour?

Just the fact of posting here, combined with their skill set, gives them a huge opportunity advantage over other third world wage slaves. I've hired people for $3 an hour that are far less capable, and considered it a bargain.

In this case, I think by far the most prudent thing for the OP to do is to quit the crappy job, and continue to diversify and build their income by doing more of what is already proven and working for them.

I have to agree with this statement if you feel it will last at least as long as 16 months then you've secured that 25 years of work.

So it kinda of shows it's a risk worth taking and after all in this field we all do it by faith and jump.. then hope we land where we expect.

actually recently I scouting for program kinda like click bank or amazon..

yea , those long establish companies...

but problem ....is hard to find those pay via paypal..

I am spending 40 hours per week on job and making $266 / Month

While i am spending only 30 hours per week on IM and making $2k / Month

I am not working on hourly basis in IM i am just scaling up my work and creating automated streams of income which require less efforts All of my current income is automated. I am just spending 30 hours per week to create more stream of income and scaling up my work as much as i can

I might sound like an idiot to IMers here that i am still doing $266 per month job. But i am now coming to a conclusion what to do. I have some options in mind that i may consider.

I am trying to conveyance my parents.. I have to invest into local real estate or something, construct my own house. Then i will come up with my final decision. But it may take 2-3 years

In some countries, yes.

If this story is genuine then all you have to do is show them your bank statements and they'll soon come around.

You'll need a history of making that money though. If it's a one off then it could be a fluke.

Same opinion. To be honest, I don't really think you should even rely on these answers to decide what you are going to do.

Okay. Here is the conclusion of the whole matter. Quit

You live in one of the most privileged places in the most privileged country on Earth. Be thankful, but don't be puzzled by the fact that not everyone shares your good fortune; most do not.

It should all come down to doing what YOU want to do. It can be really hard to go against the opinions of people close to you (especially parents) but at the end of the day your happiness is what matters most. Be true to you! Many people will doubt your decision but it's more than likely because they just don't understand what you're doing.

Look at the facts:

1) The OP is making 7.5x the income doing what s/he really wants to do, using one of the more stable and secure business models for a one person online entrepreneur: multiple membership sites with recurring income from a number of users. If one site dies, the others keep producing, and the OP's model as stated, is to build "more and more" of them over time, which has already produced a diversified, growing, recurring income.

2) The OP has been building this up for years, resulting in proof of concept and proof of the OP's ability to successfully execute the concept repeatedly.

3) The OP dislikes the job, and confirms what anyone could deduce with simple logic: the more than full time spent at that job is slowing down the growth of the far more lucrative business.

4) The OP loves being an entrepreneur, and does not aspire to your prescribed career path of seeking better employment.

5) The OP lives in a place where a more than full time govt job pays $266 a month, which obviously means a third world country.

6) The OP obviously has family there which is a central part of his/her life.

7) The OP would have to move to another country far from the family and support system, and start over to seek a job that might pay 10x as much.

8) Moving to a new country to seek a job is far from risk free, although the only reason you offer for the OP to go against what they want to do in order to follow your plan is "security".

9) The work history from a third world country govt job is of questionable value to an employer in a first world country.

10) You are saying not to give up the job security. But the current job will never lead to the kind of income you alluded to; even an unheard of 100% raise would still make for lousy pay, particularly in comparison to the well established business income. In other words, your plan requires giving up the job. In other words, give up "job security", to seek a better job.

11) Nobody can fire the OP, which arguably beats any job for security, and security is your only argument for doing the opposite of what s/he wants and is perfectly positioned to do; a lot more of what is already working. Instead you advise the total derailment of their excellent plan in favor of a huge upheaval, for the chance to pursue something they don't want, with no guarantee of success, and even if they succeed, one person can decide to end their success in a moment, unlike their business.

In other words, what you deem "one sided" is Warriors merely giving the OP exactly what s/he asked for, which is permission to do what s/he wanted to do in the first place, what makes obvious logical sense and is prudent at this point. The one sticking point is the opinions of those who don't see the world beyond jobs. To which your voice is now added.

Your idea of following the opposite of their dream for the sake of security is a far more radical upheaval of the person's current life, than quitting the lousy job to multiply the time spent pursuing the entrepreneurial route that is their dream, and which they have already repeatedly succeeded at. You say the income isn't "sturdy enough", even though it is huge by the standards of a place where $266 is acceptable for a full time job. How you think moving to a new place to seek new work, is more "sturdy" than their successful business is beyond me.

Not my idea of the essence of prudence.
