Promoting Amazon Affiliate Products To List

Ive been wondering, since amazon affiliates are not allowed to link directly to products in emails, how are you guys promoting amazon affiliate products to your list?

I'm currently sending them to posts on my site. But for something more converting, I was thinking about sending them to a video landing/squeeze page with an amazon affiliate link.

Any ideas?

    Really, to be above board and within TOS, you have to do it pretty much as you described.

    Non direct linking or using a page or post and using the link to that in your promotions/emails is best.

    Doing a form of video sales page/squeeze page works well too. I use a plugin for making squeeze pages and sales pages in WP, then write a decent review or article and promote that link while the amazon link is embedded from that page to amazon.

    if you have a decent list, test test test...

    try and make a couple different posts/pages/landing pages with your promotion, both being for the same product just written differently and with different calls to action.. split your list in half and send one of your test post/pages to one half and the other test page/post to the other half, log your results to see which converted best. Then resend the best converting to the other half (least responsive to the first test) again.

    Be creative is the best advice I can give you, there are others here who are amazon super affiliates that may have some good tips, maybe they wil chime in.

      Perfect, I'm going to start doing this. I know a product that my list will love. How can i split my list after some of them buy it, so i don't re-send them the same landing page?

        You should be able to just send to whom ever you want to on your list. Not sure how different each of the reponders are but you can go to your dashboard and look at your list, see if you can segment, check individual subscribers etc..

        if you cant figure it out or find how to do it, ask the support at your particular autoresponder service, they will be able to help you better.

        Then just choose half for one test page/email and then the other half for the other test page/email. It should give you all the analytics right there in your dashboard..
