A New Idea for Video Article Marketing!

Hello fellow warriors,

I just created this short video and placed it on YouTube
Notice that it's just one picture. But that's all thats needed here. I created it in Windows Movie Maker. Took me about 10 minutes total.

You see, you don't need to add in a lot of text. Just the key ideas!

This accomplishes the goal of getting your "article" on YouTube and, I think, improves the entire production. Notice too that there's no voiceover.

You can apply this to your own area of expertise as well. Just find a good picture, use Windows Movie Maker and their "title" function, some music if you want, and that's it!

Very nice. I play myself so I was recognizing and identifying with the pattern but it made me want to check out your site. For those learning or wanting to learn to play I think the emphasis on simplicity is great.

    Good idea... one suggestion..

I'd switch the last two titles around so it would say...

    To learn more.... visit www.yoursite.com

So your link is the last thing they see... and I'd leave on screen
all the way to the end.

I actually thought about switching them around. Average Guy: Not too cool to hijack my thread with your WSO.

In my opinion, I wouldn't use this kind of software until the "voice" sounds more like a human ... and less like a robot.

      Good idea,

however i think that bigger text, and even a voice over reading the words could increase peoples attention to the video.

Many might not be bothered to read, thats why they are watching video so they dont have to read...

so i think a voice over will help

Silly me... I didn't have my speakers turned on.

A few things that stand out for me is the title "autumn" and the visual, which is summer. Can I assume that autumn is the name of the piece you're playing?

I agree that it is very nice overall. However, who are you targeting? I taught myself to play keyboards, but never grasped how to "ad lib", as the guy shows in the video after yours. Reading the words about what it takes to play music doesn't work for me, even though I've played my own way for many years. A newcomer likely would feel the same way.

Having a shot of the hands playing the keys would be more effective. I found that your video was pretty to look at and listen to, but it didn't inspire me to look at your site. I just wanted to see what the other videos had, and I must say when I saw the next video of the man demonstrating certain hand placements while he played in two different ways was much more exciting. I was ready to click to his site. In fact, his video left me wanting more whereas yours didn't.

      Sorry.

I can't view the video. When I click the play button it says it's a private video & I must accept the senders friend request. Am I the only one seeing this?

If you don't have camtasia or a similar software like it for screencapture, you can use animoto.com to create a short 30 second video.

This lets you upload powerpoint slides and then animoto turns it into a movie.

If you're not sure what people are looking for in your niche, do a search and copy the characteristics of the most popular videos in your niche.
Pay attention to how the titles, "more info" boxes and tags are set up.
The "STATISTICS" can also be a good source of insight because they tell you what sites are linking to that video, and how many clicks have come from those sites...

Long story short, treat videos the same way you're doing articles basically.

Most of my views come from youtube's "RELATED VIDEOS" links. This is mainly people browsing through one video, and then in the sidebar another pops up. Where your video shows up for Related Videos is based on the tags that you put in.

I've noticed that my best content gets played much more because youtube takes that into account. It doesn't want to promote poor videos, so if your video has a high bounce rate (indicating worthless content) then youtube won't offer it as an option for people to view as frequently.
