I have an idea for a site and have the domain name I want, but while planning this site an obvious "sister" site came to mind.

The domain is on a Go Daddy auction for over £3000, simply not going to happen!

How do these auctions work? May the site not sell and come up cheaper in the future?

In the meantime,I will develop the first site and probably put the other on sub domain

Thanks for any advice, I'm sure I should know this but my mind has gone blank

The price may go down but it won't be more than five percent and then it'll stay that way for a while. Unforunately for the buyer most of these domains will simply be held on to until they get a decent offer, after all, it's not like they aren't willing to pay another $10 for an additional year when they stand to make $4500 on it.
