Is marketing automation really what it is hyped up to be??

There are statistics online about marketing automation and how it can be beneficial to your business in a sense of lead gen, lead nurturing, etc..

Are companies like Hubspot, Marketo, Infusion Soft, Eloqua all as good as they are hyped up to be?

If so, what makes them so good?

    Huge benefits if use correctly.

The same goes for things like SEnuke.

You are able to automate tasks which can save time and cut overall costs so you can ultimately increase profits

Personally I have never found the need, and every thing for me is automated. They do wonders for making you look far more credible though.

Do you just have a system set up with auto responders that is working well for you? What are the best automation tools other than marketing automation that you like?

Automating the right things in your business is important but I have found that you can do that yourself with a little creativity and research without paying exorbitant prices that some of these companies charge.

I think automation as far as social media can lead to good things. You can automate all new posts to shoot out to web 2.0 sites and save a bunch of time with automation if you do it properly.

It's not hype. Automation frees up time which allows you to reinvest that time to build your business.

Build a system that makes you money.
Find yourself repeating steps in your system over and over again that keep you from scaling up.
    Automate those tasks.
Scale due to automation and make more money.

This same principle applies to hiring virtual assistants etc...
The problem is that so many services are shiny and sexy that people subscribe because they are cool and not because they had any real need for it.

I use a sales funnel that has an SMS feature built right into it and it works like a charm. It is 95% automated. I love it.

What sales system do you use? Do you have to pay extra each time an SMS message is sent out or is that included in the plan?

I wouldn't call your examples automated in a traditional sense of the word. They are moreso all-in-one systems that help you control things. If you can make things work without the software, perhaps you'll save time with the software. If you can't get things to work without the software, it isn't going to magically change that.

Automation is definitely worthwhile, but you should still cast a human eye on your stuff once in awhile to make sure the automation is working

The benefits of marketing automation are HUGE! With automation you alleviate the manual process and you can also set up rules and filters to deliver more targeted and personalized marketing messages to your customers with its a B2B or B2C environment.

They are all good if they work for you and you can afford them.

Automate what you can so you leave yourself with time to do the things that are essential that you can't automate. Even something as simple as RoboForm will save you time looking for passwords and you can even access it from more than one computer.
An autoresponder is an example of automation. Could you do business without it?
