How to make money in the Natural Herb health niche?

Hello guys! I'm new to the forum and kinda new to internet marketing. I'm currently building my list around the Natural Heath Niche (giving away a free ebook in exchange for a email) I'm going to talk about everything natural herbs and all herbs are welcomed, but i'm wondering, How do i monetize it? I'm eventually going to turn it into a Natural Herb/Health Forum once I build a big enough list but for right now:

1. Should I promote these Natural Heath supplements that I found on MarketHealth.com? They seem pretty shady but I might be wrong.

2. Are there any other Natural Health affiliate programs I could join besides that one? (can't join Amazon, I wish) that allow email marketing (since i'm going to make most of my money from Email Marketing)

I really don't want to promote those natural pills that you find on sites like MarketHealth. I would love to promote like Ingredients, Ebooks, Maybe some Pipes & Bongs?

Thank you all for your help!

I completely understand where you are coming from! I am also in the natural health niche, however in nutrition. I have come across the same difficulty with finding products that I can promote that are in line with my values. Most the 'natural' products out there are in fact shady!

I have managed to find a couple of products that I am willing to endorse but will be monetising mainly by creating my own products, i.e. health guides, etc. I am not sure what your background is, for me I have a degree in nutritional therapy so it is easy to write evidence based information products for me. You could do the same with herbs?

Not sure if that helps. I am interested to see what other warriors in the natural health niche have to say.

It's always good to research products that you are promoting. You don't want to promote crap products that someone is going to buy, get a refund on, and never buy from again.

Promote your own products, cut out the middle man affiliate offers to make more of your own money.

I would love to promote my own products. I think I will just write my own ebooks and guides. Thank you guys for the feedback

It would be better for you to promote someone else's books before creating your own. This way you will understand many things you ignore, and you will create a better product.

There is a fierce competition online; the profitable niches are not profitable for those who are not strong enough.

If you aren't prepared to use scientific-based, peer-reviewed research, please avoid natural health. That niche is just rife with charlatans. I mean, for starters, "natural" health and "alternative" medicine are dead giveaways that evidenced-based research and reasoning generally go out the window.

Avoid all shady things. Don't sell snake oil, or promote it, please

I fully agree with Jessie on this one. There is so much crap out there already, the way to stand out is to provide evidence based (factual) information on the subject. With recent changes there are many 'open access' peer-reviewed journals now available online for free.

I went to University full-time for 3 years to get my qualification and the other day I received a Groupon offer to become a 'Certified' Nutritional Therapist for $50 through an online course. I can only imagine what the quality of that content is like!

Oh no, I'm not going to promote anything shady. Everything I promote will be researched carefully, I also know a great deal about natural herb from learning on the internet. I won't just promote remedies all the time, It will be news on herbs, advice, controversy (since most herbs are controversial), etc. Thank you guys for the advice, I would hate to promote something without facts behind it.

Also, will these Journals help me learn more on natural herbs?

Of course they will! Journals are the best way to get the truth. There are a lot of considerations to bear in mind when deciding whether the conclusions are valid or not, one being sample size. If it is a trial done on 25 people versus a trial done on 100-150 it is more likely the information in the latter would be more viable etc. Also, if you are creating your own product, make sure that you have also researched any contraindications the herbs may have with other medications etc.

If you need any help along the way don't hesitate to ask. Am happy to help.

          Good luck!

To be honest, I'd trust a double blind, placebo controlled study that only used 25 people, providing the results were significant.

Was just trying to simplify it. In saying that, if that were the case, there would be more research available or in the pipeline being done on a bigger sample.

Very good ideas offered here. But please, don't lump science based evidence you'll find in peer reviewed journals and clinical trial data for efficacy in natural health (complementary and integrated medicine) with snake-oil sellers you'll find online trying to make a quick buck. I've seen too many of them. Remember, the bottom line is - Do no harm.

If your subscribers are interested in natural health they should be interested in natural solutions for various health problems like acne, hypothyroid, diabetes, ovarian cysts, fibroids, high blood pressure, hemorrhoids, heatburn etc.

You could join Clickbank and look for products (ebooks) under the Remedies in the Health category for those problems.

Take a look at Barton Publishing too. Barton Publishing - Barton Publishing Natural Home Remedies
They have an affiliate program for their ebooks and will give you promotion tips.

You can find some good health products to promote in ShareASale.

Or you could do an online search for various health products you are interested in and then see if they have an affiliate program. They usually have a link at the bottom of the page if they do.

    Hope that helps.

Maybe you can try looking for ebooks at Clickbank, or natural products at Moreniche. Other than that, you can check out ShareASale.

    Hope that helps

Well before you any more time promoting a site, creating content and building a list you need to figure out how it can be monetized. Because if it can't you're just wasting your time and money aren't you?

If they are shady products then don't promote. Try them out yourself first to see. OR at the very least find some legit reviews to make sure they work. What are the reviews on Amazon or other retailers saying?

Clickbank will no doubt have ebooks. Ebay will have products and they have an affiliate program. Also check for retailers on CJ.com and ShareASale.
