Im wondering if i should be looking to purchase old domain age with some age or if i would rank well with a new domain name? If i need an old domain where is the best place to start looking?

You can purchase the older as well as newer domain to build your website, the older domain will provide you good page rank but its costly as compare to new domain, so its depend on your

hey bro
you should check the renk of old domain in google. if the rank is satysfing you - it's a good deal. cause it has already some traffic so putting the domain ti the top in the google search will be much easyier.
but if the domain doesnt have hige rank it's no difference whether you buy an old one or new .
you search ebay for *old* domains

It is much more important to use a domain that is appropriate to your website. An aged domain gives very little ranking advantage, unless it has established, HIGH QUALITY backlinks. ANY domain name can be ranked much more easily with site content.

Check the history of the old domain and never rush to buy it. Both options are good if you work on them correctly.

You don't just want to check the history on it. Make sure it's a site with content you can keep--or at least that its content is related to your niche. I've seen people buy "aged" sites only to loose all benefits when they changed everything about the site (including niche) except for its domain name.

If you're going to keep some of the content or at least keep it in the same niche, the odds are at least even. Otherwise, it can be a good way to waste a lot of money.
