This is the second month in which PayPal Inc has sent me a payment, and im not sure why . I'm definitely not mad about it, but wanted to know if warriors had this happen and why.

This thread is useless without a snapshot of the transaction.

Log into your Paypal account from the address bar of your browser, never a link in an email. Once logged in, you should be able to check out the details of the transaction.

I've never gotten money from PayPal without a description of why.

Sounds like it might be a phishing attempt...

Did they send it to your actual bank account or just your PP account?

The only time this has happened to me was when Ebay screwed up my payments. I gave them my PP address but they sent the money to my email address, which didn't have a PP attached to it. Needless to say, I was both confused and a bit angry.

Ebay is not what it used to be.

        I agree with this concept.

It seems that scammers are playing with you. Go to your Paypal from your browser and try to withdraw the amount you received, if you have any money there.

I've never seen PayPal do that unless you are collecting tax returns.

I earn 1% cash back with my PayPal debit card (it's free to enroll in the cash back program)
and every month I get a nice little chunk of change from PayPal, just for using the debit card.

    Maybe that's what it is?

    Best,
    Shane

This is their 1% Cash Back program, just login to Paypal and look at the "details" of the transaction, you should see something like this:

    Custom Note:
Your 1% Cash Back Rebate for the Month of December

    Hope this helps...

I am in the same boat as Shane N. I have a PayPal Credit/Debit card and get back a monthly rebate on everything I buy when I use it as a credit card. This works out great on all of those GoDaddy coupon codes that don't accept PayPal. I just pay with my PayPal card and get a rebate on top of the savings from the coupon.

This reminded me of something that happened to me years ago.....

I had an old PP account that I long stopped using. It was for a business that I sold. BUT... When we sold the business a kept a FEW of the members (it was a membership) who wanted to stay with ME and my NEW membership

I went ahead and added them to my new membership service (Monthly newsletter) and went about my day.

I forgot to switch the PP on their accounts though and forgot about it because the business is NOT support intensive.

    2 YEARS LATER....

It was tax time and one of these members book keeper called and asked who it was and that's when I put 2 and 2 together.

I found the PayPal account and it had 13k in it from TWO YEARS of a few forgotten subscriptions.

It was a bit of a process since I hadn't logged into that paypal account for so long, but about a month later, they sent me the cash.

That was a cool little windfall.

Correct me if I am wrong, but according to law, you can sign up wiath a Paypal account only under one name and that too after providing government ID attached to the account.

So how come you had "an old account" ????

That would mean you have more than one Paypal account and that is illegal.

As I said, correct me if I am wrong.

      Regards.

Consider yourself corrected, you're wrong. Very wrong lol.

Would you mind quoting the exact law you're stating that they broke and linking to it. Also, please don't link to the PayPal TOS because that's there rules, not the law. Plus you can have multiple business accounts associated with different tax ID numbers.

    It could be a scam.

Never click on the link from inside the email but rather visit paypal directly from your browse to ascertain the funds sent and lay a complain to paypal.

If it's wrongly they will surely come back for it..

I agree with John - check your account by going to paypal.com by typing it into your browser. If it's a proper payment it will be explained in your transaction history.

DO NOT take, spend or run fast with ANY of this money. That is VERY bad advice. You'll end up having to pay it back or Paypal will reach back into your bank account to take it back (they can and do).

It's dead easy to find out where it came from. So easy that I suspect this thread is a furfy. In the time it took you to ask the question of us you could have logged into your paypal account and solved the "mystery".

Are you sure it's not a long lost affiliate link you're getting money from?

I'd check the details if I were you. Last thing you want is someone committing fraud with your account.
