is mail chimp the best free list building software?

Mail chimp is the only free list building software I have heard good things about. I don't plan on having a big list for a while so I wanted to start free. Would mailchimp be the best choice?

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

As far as I know MailChimp don't like affiliate marketers at all. Go with List Wire for a free start.

If you are starting out and had a bit of money (10$/mo) I would recommend GVO over any thing free.

I used Norabot autoresponder service when I started out. Very simple to use and not too pricey.

What is best about them? They do not allow to promote anything that can make money.

I have heard people have issue with MailChimp down the road. They do not like affiliate links which is kind of a bad feature for your autoresponder.

Well said. An autoresponder is (in my opinion) the most important tool for your internet marketing business. Why would you not pay for one? Plus, your subscribers can tell if you are being cheap.

Definitely! Plus, in your original query you said you weren't going to have a huge list so your montly costs for your autoresponder should not be very much at all.

Also, things might change down the line and you might decide that you are going to build a bigger list. If so, it is going to be a real pain to switch from free to paid autoresponder at that point. Better to just start off with one that can grow with your business no matter how big it gets.
