Question About Article Marketing and Clickbank

I read somewhere that you can buy a domain name and redirect it to the affiliate page/sales page of the product. Is there any violations against this? For example I have found a pretty good niche but decided to promote a certain clickbank product through article marketing but since affiliate links aren't allowed in most top article directories, could I buy a domain name and redirect it to the affiliate product? I use namecheap by the way so I may need some instructions on how to redirect. Thanks

That is a requirement of Ezinearticles only (perhaps some others as well but EZA is the main one).

In Namecheap you can go to URL forwarding and set it up so the domain automatically forwards. This is done using the Namecheap DNS servers so you dont need hosting.

Or you can use other redirect methods like htacess but you'll need hosting for that.

Pretty sure this may help you, it's a step-bystep video tutorial of how to redirect your domain on namecheap (it's on NameCheap's own website):

You are allowed to use redirects in EzineArticles, but only if your link is at the top level of the domain.

So if your domain productx.info redirected to productx.com, it would be allowed, but productx.info/recommends/productx would not be allowed because of the use of the subdirectories.

Also, Goarticles allows affiliate links. So both Goarticles and Ezinearticles (to a certain extent) allow affiliate links...knock yourself out

Just so I get this straight...

Could I have www.MyFavoriteProduct.info forward to something like Vendor Home - ClickBank (not a real hoplink, btw), on Ezine?

I find EzineArticles to bring more traffic to my site than other article directories so worth the effort -buying top level domains to redirect your aff links.

Yes you can just use a top level domain to redirect to somewhere else, you just can't use subdirectories/subdomains of any sort.

I'm not sure if you want to do that though, because a landing page will increase your conversions through article marketing over direct linking.

This isn't necessarily true...you can't say that having a landing page will automatically increase your conversions as compared to not having one.

Before you decide whether to directly link with a redirect or if you want to create a landing page, you need to decide what your goal is. Do you want to make easy sales, or do you want to build a list and sell to them later, or do you want to have a presell or review page?

Direct linking is easier because it takes away the vast majority of the work. If you write a good article, give it a good title, and have a good call to action in the bio box, then your job is done and the product's salespage will do the rest.

On the other hand, creating a good landing page will, depending on what kind you create, either build you a good list that you can market to over and over again or increase conversions by reviewing or preselling the product so that the customer can make a more educated decision.

Making a landing page can be tough because you've pretty much got to write a mini salesletter. You need a persuasive headline. You need good bullets. If you're building a list, you need a good incentive for the visitor to opt in. If you're reviewing or preselling something, you need to hook your reader.

So which route should you choose? It really depends on what you feel like doing and what your skills and resources allow you to do.

I would just set up a domain to redirect, but I think most article sites are cool with you having an affiliate link, just hyperlink it at the bottom, I wouldn't go overboard with putting your link in the article though, make it look genuine, not spam-like.
