How To Deliver Timely Materials for Membership Site?

by thurana 10 replies
Dear Warriors,

Can anybody help with an idea on how to set up a system to deliver a timely materials for members in membership site?

For example, let's just say I want to set up a language course site with 25 lessons. Members will get new lessons available (or 'unlocked') on the site one by one automatically on a regular basis. So, members who joined earlier will get more materials than those who joined later. Then after finishing all the lessons, the member will get a test and if they pass it they will automatically get some kind of an e-certificate.

If possible the system should be something utilizing Wordpress and the free plugins.

FYI, I'm planning to set up a non-profit educational site where people with knowledge (teachers) could provide the materials, and people who need knowledge (students) could make use of the provided materials. (Or at least I could set up a tutorial to help others to build such site).

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

The simplest way would be to use an autoresponder to deliver the lessons. If the lessons are simple enough, you could include them in the emails. Otherwise, by sending the link to the lesson page. You could use wordpress for the lesson pages, (1 post per page) but you'd have to turn off any navigation, or all the lessons would be accessible at once. It might be better to build the site with a standard web design program.

If you're doing this "non-profit," that is, you're not charging, all you'll need is a squeeze/sign-up page for the course. (You could always monitize it with adsense and/or relevant affiliate products.) But if you're planning on selling the course, you may need to use some kind of membership software for that.

I'm not sure how you would set up the test at the end. Sounds like something you'd need expensive software to do. I'd just consider offering a printable certificate of completion they could download at the end of the course, without requiring an actual test.

    Good luck!

This is my vouch too. I am using aMember with this plugin too for my membership site and I must say is brilliant.
The plugin is easy to integrate with your site too.

    Hi Thurana

Membership site scripts can be expensive and what is more to the point, they may involve you in a steep learning curve and take up many days, if not weeks of your time before you can even begin.

If you want to get your membership site off the ground as quickly as possible and without the need for membership scripts, then using your autoresponder and a simple Sales page> Order Page> and then Download page for each lesson is the answer.

I set up my membership site in days and the beauty of this system is that you don't have to load everything up before you open up your membership to subscribers. You could be in business in a matter of days, depending on your current skills.

If someone is hell-bent on abusing your trust by sharing the download link, then you won't be able to stop that (you could, of course, use a software to prevent unauthorised use) but if you're providing free lessons, you shouldn't worry about it anyway.

If your membership site is not free, then make each of your lessons/reports have as many links to other products/services as you can so that even those who get your product for nothing may buy something from you, later, using the links you include in those reports/lessons.

You can find out more about this simple but highly effective membership system below:

I will disagree with this, it depends upon the developer of the membership script. I have a all-in-one solution that is custom built and will offer more than any other membership script on the market and will be 3 times less than amember..

Full 200% newbie friendly and no steep learning curve at all, everything explained fully in detail with docs and video + full support.

WishList is a WP membership plugin that was recommended to me by several other Warriors. I've just set it up and can't say that I've actually used it yet. (I'm still getting everything set up.) But I do know it allows you to drip content in WP. And their tech support has been really great. I've been quite impressed so far.

The price for one license is $97 which is about $100 less than AMember. Depending on your needs, AMember may still be your best choice, but if your needs are fairly simple and you want to use a WP plugin, I'd recommend at least looking at WishList.

Their Web site is at WordPress Membership Plugin :: Membership Software WishList Member

There is a script built into Fantastico - it's not easy to use, but it was designed for just the purpose you have described.

Check it out it's called Moodle.

    Hope that helps,

MW Gradual content delivery plugin for wordpress does exactly what you need.
You can get is separately or, if you care about SEO together with the whole MemberWing membership site system plugin.

I also about to release digital content protection where no one will be able to download your digital content (movies, ebooks, files) by typing direct URL, unless he is a premium user. It will come together with MemberWing.

    Hello,

Big Mike here on the Warrior Forum has a product called "EZ Lesson Manager". It's a very slick script! Very simple to set up and you can monetize each "lesson" page if you like. It's password protected and you can even print out a nice Certificate of Completion.

Check it out here....(NO aff. link) EZ Lesson Manager | Online Training at it's best! Create unlimited courses with text and multimedia. Offer paid or free courses...

For $20 you can't go wrong!
