I guess it depends on what you want out of your membership site. Paid memberships? What sort of content?

What's your vision for your site and the user's experience?

It would be paid memberships, downloadable monthly products, with experience of users ranging from newer marketers to moderate marketers.

Guess I should have thought to include that in the original post

I am using Membership Manager Supreme. It was a WSO a month back. So far I like it. Has its own autoresponder and I have combined it easily with Wordpress.

But, I haven't used any other membership scripts so I can't compare it to say amember.

Amember is a good inexpensive script. Fantasos is an excellent expensive one. JVManager is a moderately priced one. All are good. I have owned all of these.
Also there are several forum members that sell membership scripts. I ahven't tried any of those tho.

    Hi Michael

I work with Joomla and a commercial plug in reason is that it is very secure and you have a full list of subscribers in your database that you can manage. It is versatile that you may have many subscription plans like a one day 7 day or monthly subscription. One the security you may show members your content or downloadable products but they can download them or if they want to read more they need to buy a subscription. Can also have a plan A,B and C the sky is the limit.

I use joomla with AEC to control subscriptions on one of my sites and I have used Joomla and amember on the other.

Joomla and Amember work well together, but community builder is not supported.

    Hi Michael,

I have used amember, Joomla with AEC subscription manager, JV Manager, and Fantasos as well.

I personally favor the newer version of JV Manager called Fantasos for it's ability to control multiple remote membership sites from one central location.

    Good luck in your search.

    Tony

Hi all, and thanks for the recommends on membership scripts... have just installed jvmanager and think it looks pretty powerful, but... they have their turbomembership.com banner plastered at the top of all of my affiliate and customer pages... anyone know how to get this out, or can you tell me where else to look? (I did a search on this thread and netted 0 search results)

      Hi,

As far as I am aware this is only seen in the administrator interface - log in as an affiliate/customer - from memory you will not see it.

It's definately displayed ONLY TO YOU.
Not to your customers, neither to your affiliates.

I use both launch formula marketing & butterfly marketing for my sites.

If you plan on having a free front end and monetizitation via One Time OFfers these scripts are perfect. You will also be able to get them discounted if you get into either Mike or Robert's marketing funnel.

I really like Amember - very flexible and they continually update the script.

    Highly recommended.
