It is down for me as well, they have stated on an hosting forum that they are working to resolve the issue.

Almost 16 hours of downtime now, switched hosts but can't get any of my data switched over because everything is down. This doesn't look good at all.

In case of the main server down and you want to move out, can you ask them for off-site backup? Or they don't have that in plan features?

If they guarantee 99% uptime or something (as these companies always do), try changing your hosting provider, and also ask for your money back.

Recently switched to them, they did say yesterday that they were getting DDOS attacks plus their FB page says their server company is not helping.

Sites still down at the moment but before switching again the question has to be which hosting companies own their own servers rather than rent space like Crocweb.

Yes, that is the question. I have had Crocweb for about 18 months and never had a problem before. I only have 2 sites on there, 1 is now back up again, but it is a new site that I just installed Wordpress on 3 days ago and had not yet added the content, so it is not a big deal anyway.

The other site is still down, and I still cannot access cpanel. Fortunately I have a recent backup so I can move to another host easily.

I would highly suggest Veerotech or Arvixe for reseller hosting.

Only Stablehost if you've got your own billing panel, or don't need a billing panel.

The reason resellers flocked to Crocweb is because it was cheap. Well, now you know what happens when you buy cheap. The datacenter they were using is for some reason unwilling or unable to stop this DDoS. It may be a result of not paying for better facilities and hardware.

I've always been afraid that this would happen.

      Hey,

Sorry, I do not visit this forum very often. We did have issues last month due to the attacks however our network is now protected by BlackLotus (blacklotus.net).

This is incorrect information, we never cut corners and we always strive to deliver high quality service. We are one of the first hosts to offer pure solid-state drive hosting, our hardware is not cheap. Partnering up with BlackLotus secures CrocWeb's future.

My sites (and income) were gone for 2 days straight! I considered leaving for a new host, but I'm gona stick it through for now. No time to mess with hosting, have to focus on developing my products, lol.

        Crocweb still kicks Hostgator's ass.

          ^ Worth repeating.

@Crocweb: Yep, you've made some good moves lately. You're learning from failures, therefore not doomed to repeat them as most hosts would do. Kudos!

I was also affected by the downtown and it also upset my clients but from my reseller hosting experience so far Crocweb had the quickest support. This is actually what attracted me to them.

I am pitching my tent here for now.

Me, too. I did get an email from Crocweb saying that they are offering 3 months free to anyone whose sites were affected. All you have to do is put in a support ticket to Billing and ask for it. I plan to do just that.
