Hi There,

I was told months ago that because I live in Minnesota, I can no longer be an Amazon affiliate. Does this apply also to kindle publishing?

Thanks for the feedback!

No, you are not an Amazon Affiliate if you are a Kindle author. They are two totally different things.

Also I remember reading about a way to be an Amazon Affiliate even if you live in a state that does not allow you to be one. The method involves a partnership (possibly not the correct term) with a company in an allowing state. In the eyes of Amazon it is OK becasue commissions go to the business entity in that state. Sort of a redirect of commissions. I apologize that I go not remember the name of this program but I am sure it could be found if you do a bit of searching. (PM me if you can't locate it).

This is only for Amazon affiliates. "Real" publishers are not affected.

Kindle author is not the same. Still, you losing amazon sux. Perhaps, you can incorporate in another state like Florida that is nice & warm. Also, there is no personal income tax - that was my solution.
