Other income streams?

I'm new to Warrior Forum. For a few years, I've been reading about affiliate marketing and took a few small courses along the way but never really did anything. Anyways, I just recently finished AffiloBlueprint which was a good course to learn the basics. The course pretty much just teaches you how to promote Clickbank products but I know there's so much more to IM than Clickbank.

I've been glancing at forum threads and most of the things being discussed are foreign to me - what's the best place to learn about IM and all the ways to make money? It's quite overwhelming. I realize that it's not an overnight process and that making money takes time. I understand that. I just need to know what I should be doing. Right now I have a simple site which promotes a few Clickbank products. I'm a web designer so the design aspect isn't the problem, nor getting content. My problem is driving traffic to my site, building my email list, learning how to make money via other avenues...any help would certainly be appreciated.

It will if you get good.

But in the mean time, get acting on anything you can. If you find you're not making money, it's either:

    1. Wrong Market
    2. Wrong Product/Service/Positioning
    3. Not enough Traffic

If you are a web designer, maybe you would be interested in teaming up with people who need designers or exchanging your services for the know-how or share of profits?

I have dozens of websites and projects that could use a professional design. The most lucrative project is a SEO keyword research tool Million Keywords which is a lightning fast database containing 15 million keywords and a list of 500 thousand available dot com exact match domains.

Are you willing to redesign my site in exchange for full access to my database to find profitable keywords for your business?

If you have been perusing the Forum for a while you have certainly heard this, but it bears repeating: find one thing and stick with it until it works.

When things are developing slower than you would like, the pull of the next idea can be nearly irresistible.

      Resist.

If affiliate marketing calls to you at all, make that your base. Put much of your effort there. True, you need traffic, everyone does. So learn about traffic and what works bets for affiliate sites, which will be different from what works best for other things,
Right now that looks like SEO and video (I'm sure others will disagree).

And as far as email marketing goes - my only advice about building a list is that you have a very clear idea about what you are going to do with it before you even start. If you focus all of your energies on building a list and then let it languish, you will have wasted a lot of effort.

Above all, be very careful with your desire to learn "about IM and all the ways to make money." That way lies information overload and the shiny object syndrome.

      Leave your checkbook at home.

Affiliate marketing doesn't necessarily "call me". It just happens to be the only method that I learned to make money online. I'm just trying to figure out what the best fit is....I laughed when I saw your "leave your checkbook at home" comment. It's so damn easy to spend money on courses!

I appreciate the offer but I told myself that if I end up designing again, I won't have time for my own business. I work full time at a "day job" and come home to work online which doesn't leave me any time to design for others. Again, thank you but I have to decline the offer.

I appreciate the fact that you have the right mindset for setting your pace in online marketing, Firstly, its important you avoid being overwhelmed by selecting a technique of getting traffic and learning how to use it effectively, master it and then move to another technique depending on how things work for you. Do some research on keywords that match the products you promote , write articles on the keywords to help you rank your site on Google.

One of the most important things I teach my affiliate students is Target Marketing.

What I am talking about is really understanding who your customer is going to be and when you do that you can also work out,

    1) Where they hang out
    2) What their problems are.

If you do the above you will then know what content to offer, what products to offer. Where to place your ads and how to word your ads.

It will save you a lot of time and money in the log run.
