My recommendation is not to invest that much of money into marketing.. spend money on learning certain marketing and become experts on it then you will know automatically where to invest..

If you have money then learn Solo ads properly..

I will advise whatever you do just don't burn it all on one thing. Take some money out for testing(maybe $500) and see if you get results or not.

i would get a legit coaching program...maybe for 300-400 dollars.
this is what i do from time to time. i scour the forum that talk about a great method that is working for them. then contact them directly if they are interested in private coaching me or telling their method for a fee. some will ask for $100 or $200. but, they will reveal to you and they will never make it a wso because they do not want everyone to know their method. think outside the box..................

If they sell the info to you via emails or pm, then what stops you from taking their method and making a wso and selling it as your own.

This is a bad method and a reason I ignore many pm's. So many people here looking to steal info to call their own and sell it.

Op, stay away from any coaching offers, no matter how tempting their pitch may seem.

I also agree with joecason above when he talks about the importance of list building. Whatever niche you are in having an email list is a proven way to keep you leads/customers and to be able to communicate and market with them. This can be vital to you long term success.

Just put your wallet away, save your money, and become a student right here at the WF. Learn what this game is all about. Watch, listen, ask questions, observe others that seem to be doing what you'd like to do and conserve your cash until you have a solid plan and you need a little money in order to execute that plan.

Throwing money at advertising before you understand how to get a positive return on your investment is no different than burning money.

Don't be so turned off by SEO and list building. They are at the core of Internet marketing (especially list building). There are simple, effective ways to do SEO (or have someone else do it for you) that won't require much on your part once you understand the basics of the game.

To just expect to buy your way into a decent income stream with $2K is pretty unrealistic, IMO, especially for a newbie. Spending money guarantees you exactly nothing!

Since time is your only investment at this stage of your marketing education, I would suggest you use it to your full advantage and observe what the successful marketers here at the forum are doing.

There is a helpful guy on this forum name kenster, he has a free cpa ebook called rags2riches in which he says you can make $200-$300 a day. It is a starter book for beginners. Use the search function and you might find it in his sig.

After reading it, ask him some questions. I am not sure if your money will get you to where you are trying to go faster or not, i'll let you decide that after you gather more information.

You might want to also post and read in another section of the forum on cpa where you could probably get a better response.

Keep your $2000. It will go faster than you think. Choose a niche and connect to a mentor or coach who does what they teach. Be patient. Many will promise you the world but decide which method suits your skills, time and passion and concentrate on it.
With regard to having no affinity for listbuilding, the truth is many Warriors on this forum are making the the type of $$$ you seek because they have a list of customers. It is not exclusive to IM but in fact any product in demand - health, exercise, finance, relationships, foods (organic), animals, fashion and then within each niche are sub-niches you can really zone in on.

I'd choose a mentor that can get you there faster than pure trial and error
learning.

Trust me it will rapidly accelerate your progress online.

They've been through all the crap so you don't have to or you can
at least avoid most of the pitfalls along the way.

Don't throw $2k into anything yet. Learn the basics of free marketing. We already know you can get instant traffic with paid advertising, but learn for yourself free marketing so that you learn the essentials of marketing online. See if you can generate money with building a list and traffic generation. If you dont know how to make money without money, then you probably will still have a hard time making money WITH money.

I wouldn't just 'blindly' spend your money. I wouldn't just run out and look for a 'mentor' like everyone is telling you to do. Most mentors don't really pay too much attention unless you are making them 'consistent' money.

Your success has to come from 'within' not from outside you. Yes a good mentor can steer you in the right directions but most people are looking out for themselves.

What are you trying to market anyway? Your question is way too broad.

Is what you are marketing worth spending on to advertise?

Take out your calculator and do some math.

Invest in learning 2 things, email and video marketing and how to put them to work together, very very important, that you master things you have learned get really good at that and even more importantly take an action on what have learned... Do not jump true 100 different products, once you found the product you are interesting in and looks promising, search for reviews before you buy, you will understand after while which reviews is honest and which is not...

I would say if you don't have a product of your own. I would invest in creating a product that you can sell for 100% profit and to get traffic just pay affiliates money to sell your product a portion of your profits.

List building is the key to making money online. What most guru's won't tell you is that many people don't make a ton on the front end they make it more on the backend.

So in other words instead of trying to get new customers just focus on your current customers or what they call customer retention, which is working your list.

Since you have no idea what to invest in, you will lose all your money, no matter what. So keep the money and learn before you invest. Find something that you are good at, start up a business, use the free or very cheap methods and then when you have an idea what you are doing, scale it all up with an investment.

wow thank you all for the overwhelming responses!

Here's what I came up with, as a business plan. I would like to know what tou think:

- Purchase CPVLab
- $100 for 2 months of VPS hosting.
- The first $200 on LeadImpact, promoting CPA offers with a landing page. I'm thinking the dating niche.

Start testing out from there, till I find an offer that converts. Maybe another $200 on LI to continue testing a few things.

Does that sound like a realistic plan for you guys?

Sounds like a plan. Don't rule out list building entirely though. It's a solid plan that can pay you for years to come and once you build a nice list, you have customers that trust you and will buy from you, over and over again (provided you build that ever-so-important relationship). Every online business takes patience and hard work.

The IM niche is not the only one online that you can apply list building to - the topics are limitless, especially evergreen topics.

Save your money & use it to outsource whatever you are doing to build your business.

For example, if you are building a blog site, use the money to hire real experts in wordpress, graphics design & copyrighting to create great content for your site.

That will serve much better than paying for traffic.

Invest it on creating a product that serve the needs of specific market. You can do it either by DIY or by outsourcing. Once ready, publish your product in the affiliate marketplace such as JVZOO or Clickbank. You will have a truly money-machine system that serve you well.

You got to spend money to make money. But the trick is to spend money like you don't have it... even if you're a millionaire.

If I were you I would -

1) Get a fast VPS
2) Get GSA
3) Start ranking HQ Clickbank videos
4) Start ranking local sites in your area for home improvement type work
5) Hire a broker who works on a commission only basis
6) Forward your local leads to your broker (a good local broker can make you rich)
7) Make money collecting local commissions and clickbank commissions.

Then eventually you can scale, get 3 fast VPS's, and go insane scaling your strategy.

Its pretty close to what I'm doing right now. I make good money thanks to my broker, and a smaller amount with clickbank, but my goal is $30k/month by 2015. And I personally believe I'll get there by fall.

GTFO of here. Take your money and open up an investment account or a ROTH IRA. You'll need $2000-$5000 depending on the broker you use, but since you don't actually want to do anything in IM (which requires email marketing), you might as well invest that money....otherwise you're going to lose it all giving it to a bullshit artists who rips you off since you're too lazy to do anything yourself.

You can do enough of that for free right here on WF, as well as elsewhere on the web. Ask questions. Take notes. Make plans. Don't spend a penny until you are confident you know the answer to your title question without asking anyone else.

The fastest way to learn is by DOING.

All the notes and plans in the world are worthless without any action.

The only way to build confidence and faith is to take persistent, continuous action.

But you are right to a degree as it seems he is letting all the suggestions in this thread help him determine what he is to do.

Good sound conservative advice - if you want to make around $80 every 3 months.

Pretty sure he wants to invest it in a business venture with the intention of turning a profit higher than $80 and faster than 3 months at a time

If I had 2k to invest I would invest it in some paid marketing on Facebook. If you're already passionate about a niche that there's money in, you are already on the right path. Then simply get a beginners course on Facebook PPC. You'll learn more by taking action than getting on forums and reading blogs all the time. I believe Facebook gives you $50 to advertise on their site.

Take the money out of the bank all in cash. Put in it a plastic jar or glass jar. Put it somewhere really safe and somewhere where no one can find it. That will be your emergeny slush fund. So after you try IM and end up on the street, you'll think..."hmmm okay well I do have my slush fund". so you go get that, and you now have a bit of money to buy food and pay your rent until you can hopefully find a job. you might think I'm joking around BUT I'M NOT!

Hi ,

This is what you should do:

1. Learn a bit more about the possible projects you can do online.
2. Choose a nice you would like to work on.
3. Make a business plan ( define a goal to achieve and how many sales a month you would need to achieve that.
4. Never give up and keep trying.

well... I would say... invest in yourself first... go and buy few beers.. and find a training course that teaches you how to set up a business that will actually multiply those $2k... don't spend in Marketing unless you are convinced you are talking to the right audience and that they will actually buy anything..

I have to say that list building is not only for IM... you have clearly misunderstood the whole concept... List building is an asset that your company have, customer/prospect databases are very valuable and this is what the list building concept is all about...

So going back to your $2k... education first, then the tools to support your business and lastly... at the very last when you understand your market.. just then you advertise

pretty easy for me PPC > OPTIN PAGE.

When i started to do this properly, i was making x,xxx per month.

now its xx,xxx per month.

And I started with way less than $2000 dollars. So that is whree I would start. Becareful though, I lost a bit of money trying to learn PPC, so test first and upscale the winners. Pretty simple really. :-)

I would take that $2,000 and invest it in buying your time, freedom, and use that opportunity to network and grow a business.

I would buy two months of not working or having responsibilities,
use that time to network with people in person.
Spend $500 or less of that on the actual course or product.

I was able to use $300 and 2 months to build an eCommerce store that has since been successful, but I was only able to do that because I was living in Thailand at the time and had nothing but free time to work and hang out with enterptuners.

OK are you using CPALEADS or sim?

It is easy to create some you tube mini movies. People want to see more. They have to complete an offer or a survey. Basically, this is easy.

Things you need to create mini movies.

HD camera
lighting set up
video editing program

This should cost less than $500 total, but you might use the other $1500 to improve your movies studio in coming years. Start now and ideas will come later on.

Use it to build assets like a great site, ebooks or develop useful software.

Then use free methods to sell your assets.

Dont blow the money on advertising, that is not an investment.

An investment is when you buy assets.
