Best membership site software

Hi

A long time ago I was looking at membership site software and Bill Myers Membergate seemed the best option-if expensive. I was wondering if anyone is familiar with today's alternatives and could advise best cost-effective alternative?

    Look into Optimize Press. They have very extensive tutorials on how to get set up and rolling. I'm not sure what qualifies as "expensive" for you, but last time I checked it was under $100. Hope that helps!

    There are all kinds of alternatives for membership site software these days including DAP, aMember, Wishlist, MemberSpeed, etc. However, if you truly want the "best" as your thread title implies, MemberGate is still king. Feature for feature nothing else compares. It is proven, stable, includes a forum, digital downloads, can be scaled to thousands and thousands of members, it is reliable, there is a good community of users for help and ideas, customer support is great, and it will easily pay for itself very quickly.

      MemberMouse is very good.

      It's a WP plugin...

      Yeah...I know it's $20/month and some other options may wind up costing you LESS in the long run. But there are advantages....one being that you can get started for just $20.

      Another advantage is that they regularly make updates, so it's always improving... they can do that because they have customers paying monthly every month. So the focus is on current customers of the plugin and not just finding new customers. The same thing goes for support.

      I recommend it to people starting off because there is no big investment....there's a 14 day trial and after that it's $20/month. That price stays steady until you go over 1,000 members.

      The only downside is it doesn't currently have direct integration with marketplaces like JVZoo or WarriorPlus.

      I've also used InstaMember, which is a solid product. Although more expensive now compared to when I bought it when it first launched.

      Given the choice, I'd choose MemberMouse.

    Well, there are tons, its based on budget. The low budget best in my opinion are DAP (mainly because new version just came out, the shopping cart rocks). SIte man pro looked awesome, was good, but support was pretty poor, and always said, new stuff coming, but never really did.

    If you want a good solution for basic membership stuff and don't need a lot of bells and whistles, Jason Fladlien's WP Member Champ is solid. I use it all the time and have never had any problems.

      I would throw in another WP option called 'Profits Theme'.
