Creating a list for the first time

Hello WF,

I've recently been exercising a niche & generating a significant amount of revenue. I'm coming across all these new words now I'm starting to actually look into internet marketing forums. Phrases like 'building a list', can someone explain what this actually is & how you can use it & what way it can benefit you?

I believe it is building an email list? I have a large email list which I have just kept on my computer over time which is related to mobile phone stuff. What can I do with this? Is this worth anything?

Appreciate your time, thanks!

That depends how old is your list?
Have you been communicating with them regularly?

It also depends very much on the niche you would like to 'exercise' on your mobile phone related list.

For me building a list is a top priority always.

The list is very new & it is full of users who didn't get what they want & were stupid enough to fill out surveys & stuff like that.

The niche is Jail Breaking phones. Can I do anything with the list?

Were all these people ripped off and never received the jailbreak code? If so, the list is most likely useless.

ur right. building a list is creating an email list. you can use providers like aweber to build your list. lists are great because you can market and remarket to your viewers over and over agian. it's like owning your own little traffic source and retarget them in the same way facebook owns its users and targets them over and over again.

If your list didn't buy from you or sign up to receive emails from you, you'll be spamming them if you email them. Proceed with caution. There are services that will let you import that list, but they'll watch like a hawk and delete your account the moment the spam complaints exceed a very minimal level.

Your list will only help you if you already have a big following who trust you (because you are trust worthy) and like you (because you have a big heart and have a lot of love to share with others).

A lot of people are looking into this industry are doing so to get. What can you give back?

If you want to increase your net worth, find ways to help more people and your paycheck will gradually increase. It's physics.

The big misconception is that there is big money in building a list. Building a list is a must if you want to build a solid internet marketing business. However, it needs to be a responsive list.

I am constantly asking my list questions, and responding back to their answers. A small responsive list, is often times more valuable than a big list.

I am a real person to them, and they really know me. I send them high quality information on a regular basis.

You need to build a relationship with that list, and the money will follow.

make sure it is an optin list and confirm through email.

Building a list = building an email list aka a customer list.

Something every real business online and offline has. Whether that be with the end user of the product or their suppliers.

You use this list to keep them updated of chances in the business, new products, things they might be interested in.

In internet marketing terms when running a blog or creating info products you'll use it to deliver more information to them on the topic / niche of the blog or product as well as market new products to them.

It's a way to keep in touch and get repeat sales, drive new traffic to your site and offers, stay connected, build a relationship and more.

The list is very new & it is full of users who didn't get what they want & were stupid enough to fill out surveys & stuff like that.
Right so you've collected a list of people but not added them to an autoresponder and just stored them on your computer?

You didn't give them what they wanted when they entered their email and you think they are stupid?

Delete this list it's of no use to you at all and your attitude towards these people suggests you'll never be able to build a relationship with them.

There are many challenges here. First getting them into an autoresponder. It's not clear whether you collected these emails in an ethical manner and they knew what they were signing up for or expected further emails so many autoresponders might now allow you to impoert them and you may not have permission to email them anyway.

If you didn't give them what they expected when they entered their email there's no chance they are going to want future emails from you. At best they will go unopened and at worst marked as spam.

You think they are stupid so obviously don't respect them. You'll be unable to connect with them in any sort of manner which builds a relationship and trust with them - if they even open your emails in the first place.

    Not much use this list.
