Best free traffic sources for an online furniture store?

Hey guys,

I understand there are tons of traffic sources out there besides search engines. I wanted to know though what would you recommend as good traffic sources for an online furniture shop or any physical products shop? Its geographically independent since I ship across North America free of charge.

How do you expect people to pay for your furniture if you won't pay for traffic?

If you want to run a business you'll need to invest in your traffic. Being a cheap about it won't get you anywhere. I'd certainly never buy from anyone who couldn't pay for traffic.

Harsh reality. I only spread this message because I was once looking for free traffic, many years ago. At the time I was running a pipedream. I learned the hard way that you need to spend a dollar to make two dollars!

    Good luck.
    Jim.

lol what a douchy thing to say. I'm no experienced IM, in fact I got into the game a couple months ago but even I know that no two traffic sources are the same. What works for one business may not work for another. Some companies do very well thru ppc while others do just as good spending no money on advertising and relying completely on social media. I wanted to know if anyone had solid suggestions for furniture site, or any site that sells products. I don't want to rely completely on google and wanted to diversify my sources of traffic.

I ran facebook ads and google ppc and saw no results. I had more conversions through blog commenting on niche sites.

since my online biz is very new, I'd rather approach each method with caution then to hastily jump into something and blow money on something that won't work for my site. If that makes me cheap, so be it. harsh reality indeed!

I'm a drop shipper so ofcourse I'm going to say Ebay!!! I would post items on Ebay sale them and post them for local pickup. I would also advertise heavily on Facebook for foot traffic.

Facebook for sure as its still a widely used social media platform.
And for some reason, have no idea why, in my area Kijiji (online classifieds) is a huge traffic source for furniture dealers. Free, searched widely, and it seems that buyers in your market turn to that source.

    Hope this helps.

If you have a furniture business, have a blog, have a fan page and do some paid ads. I recommend you do FB PPC and you can use your blog for a free traffic generation strategy. Just create high quality content within your niche consistently. You can also try Craigslist or other online classifieds.
