Ebay Affiliate Commission Questions

I just signed up for the eBay affiliate program and I'm completely confused on how their commission structure works. I have been searching, but all the info is outdated. I'm even finding pages still on eBay of their previous structure.

All the info I could find was in a FAQ. It said 65%. Okay... 65% of what? Another source of information indicated that it's a CPC program. Another mentioned you get $0.05 per bid and $20 if someone signs up. I also read 200% for new signups... again 200% of what?? Can someone help me out? Maybe explain or link to some current information.

They have a rating system now. Yeah, they really screwed it up. However, here is some good news. Fee bay might spin off pay pal soon. Like wow, that is awesome. Frankly, we hate being forced to use pay pal on fee bay, but there we are.

PayPal does suck, but how does this rating system work? Looking at the program details there is a list of categories. Example: Home & Garden says 65%. Does that mean if an end-user clicks a link and buys a product I'd get 65% of what eBay charges as commission? That's all I can figure out. There are no examples or anything. eBay is really terrible when it comes to information.

I'm not a fan of eBay, but showing the audience certain unique items in my niche could be a real benefit.
