Hey guys,

I am mainly an offline marketer that is involved in advertising, printing and web development. I would like to get on the online money making stuff but I dont know where to start. I am new at this, but familiar with SEO and trying to learn as much as I can.

In the meanwhile I am trying to find a good place to start where I can learn how to make money online from blogs, drop shipping, and whatever it may be.

Any help guys?

Thanks.

    Hi! I sent you a pm with a resource that could help out. Other good resources for learning is here in WF. There's so many golden nuggets here. I definitely recommend getting yourself a mentor, training product and a blog. It would be nice if the product you get could be re-sold as well and you get the commissions.

    If you're familiar with SEO, a good place to start may be to set up a blog.

    Cheers.

    WF has tons of great information that can help you with your startup. Yes, you'd need a mentor or a coach who can give you the fundamentals. Beware of shiny things, lest you burn capital unnecessarily.

    One of the most popular way to go, which many people here seem to go for, is blogging. Another is affiliate marketing. Since you have knowledge on SEO, you are off to a good start. Assess your resources, capabilities and passion and start your business from there.

      Thanks guys I really appreciate all of your help.
      I used to sell products on Ebay near 6 years ago and made some good cash but left it ever since then.

      I will definitely be looking around here at WF as usual and hopefully I can pick up something.

      Another question would be is how much are these online marketers making on an average for the average marketer.

        How much internet marketers make varies. It depends on the effort, knowledge and product/service they offer. The sky is the limit to how much an internet marketer can earn.

    Hey,
    I think you'll find that the WF is a great place to start, most of the people in this section of the forum in particular are asking the same questions you'll be asking. I found that if you pay attention to some of the answers and look for some of the answers to these questions yourself you'll become more knowledgeable by the day.
    A lot of it also comes from experience, trying things out and not being afraid to mess up. I also found that the WSO area is great to learn how to create sales pages, write ebooks and so forth.. I would invest a little bit of money in some of those products. Not all of them will make you a millionaire like some of them say they will, but you will definitely come out from the other side knowing more than you did before.
    Lastly, if you really want to speed things up, I would invest in a coach or a mentor. This is the best way to shorten the learning curve.

    Cheers!
    Pedro

    I always enjoy these questions; although they're always terribly hard to answer, because much of what you decide to do depends on your passions in life.

    Let me throw a suggestion at you.

    You have SEO experience. Now this is a great notch in your belt and I think you should utilize it.

    One of many possible plans:

    1. Decide on 1 product you would like to promote (something that interests you);
    2. Research keywords and competition;
    3. Consider monetization options;
    4. Purchase an EMD;
    5. Rank your EMD;
    6. Drive Traffic
    7. Capture traffic with a newsletter;
    8. Once site is in profitability, scale up - rinse and repeat.

    This is terribly general, I know, but I hope it helps somewhat.

    The fact that you are registered on this forum is a good step. There are lots of experienced IM practitioners who post really useful information for newbies. Keeep checking out the forum and you will be well-grounded on this in no time!
    That aside, I'll tell you that blogging is just one of the few ways through which you can make money online, but it's a good place to start so you are on track already. Affiliate marketing is definitely the way to go if you intend to start your IM venture through blogging, and there is so much information on that in this forum.

    If you have a little money to spend, you might want to check out the Warriors Special offers forum as well. There is a ton of information on how to begin your IM venture there, and at very reasonable prices.

    Wishing you all the best.

    Victoria is spot on...pretty wide open question you left here, one that ultimately comes down to what your skills/strengths are, what you enjoy AND THEN making sure to target a commercial opportunity around each of these.

    Any ideas on markets and/or types of businesses (selling information, affiliate marketing, selling a service like web development, content development/advertising, etc...) you see yourself doing?

    There are opportunities in each, my guess is that you are better suited and perhaps even have an idea of which one you want to work already?

    I would definitely say start off with a blog. There are many online people who are looking for a few offline marketing tips as well. That would be something to share, especially if you're good at it. You talked about success with Ebay, too. Blog about it. Anything of value that you can share is a great way to start!
