How Can I Use My Friends Talents To Get Rich

I have a friend who is an artist...

The best Artist I have ever seen draw. This guy is super talented but is (to me) wasting his talent as a tattoo artist.

For Me, I am an avid Internet Marketer who loves to make money online.

I was just thinking that If me and him partnered up we could kill it online. I am thinking maybe do t-shirts and such with his art and my marketing skills.

What would you suggest we do as far as combining our talents?

I could make a website sell his art?
I could use his art and sell clothing?
I could sell his art selling graphics to IM'ers?

Would love to know what I should do. Your thoughts

If being a tattoo artist is his true passion then there's no stopping him. He can eventually open up his own shop. If he says yes to starting a biz online, then he can do this part time still while it's still building up. Starting a clothing line and designing logos for big companies should work out and could be a big money maker if done right. I suggest you guys have a site, shoot some videos of him drawing or sketching and post it on youtube (those vids get tons of hits) and direct the traffic to a blog with some shirts they can buy or whatever. That should actually work out if you guys put effort into it.

The easiest and quickest way: setup a business to do graphics for webmasters.

You have almost 300 posts here. That alone will drive some starting traffic to the business, and then reinvest some of those profits into further forum advertising in webmaster communities.

Graphics for webmasters would be a great opportunity if your friend is interested. I'd start gathering samples of his work and as importantly, testimonials from his clients. And get an honest sense from him what fields interest him most as that will help you formulate a business plan moving forward.

  • Showcase him on youtube - I know people got rich just showcasing themselves (in a video).

I have to ask... What "Marketing Skills"?

The reason I ask is... IF you had Marketing Skills, you wouldn't need your friend to "Kill it online". Instead, you would look at your situation differently, and think "How can I help my friend turn their hobby into a business that they can be proud of?"

The 'obvious' answer seems to be to design T-shirts on Teespring and then sell them through Facebook advertising.

I'm looking at bringing his art skills into the IM realm. I am doing it without him, but when I see his art I think of how much he could be doing online. I know I can outsource and get artist to do what I need online, but his is ultra talented.

      Thanks for your suggestion.

    1. Have him teach "how to draw" in a membership site - drip fed content over a fixed period

    2. Start a Google HelpOut for Tattoo artists

    3. Do a Learn Tattooing or Learn to Draw Udemy Course

There are 3 off the top of my head

Your subject line made me do a double take. Somehow, the words "my friend" seem completely inappropriate when you're talking about someone you want to exploit for personal gain. Maybe you should respect his passion and stop regarding him as a commodity of sorts.

If you genuinely regard him as a friend, your desire should be for him to do what makes him truly happy, or suggest ways HE could get rich from his talent (IF he desires that). But asking how YOU can get rich from it (which is the very clear title of this thread) is incredibly self-serving and not befitting a true friend.

Sorry if that sounds harsh, but I would never consider someone a true friend (or want them as a friend) if they were looking for ways to make money off of my talents or skills. It would be entirely different if HE had suggested that the two of you become partners; but you said this was your idea, not his - and that's where the ulterior motive and self-serving agenda come in - neither of which belong in a real friendship.

        Just something to think about.

You can be the "middle-man" hehehehe And find online and offline customers who need a new logo, a new corporate image, a design for a product ...

What do not I recommend is that you use fiver for $ 5 sure your friend needs more than 1/2 hour draw something decent and only earn $ 4 net to distribute between your friend and your.

    Hope it helps

(Also you can open your own graph company posting here on WF clasified ads or use sites as oDesk etc...)

Your friend have got talent, yes that's great but you also need to have talent to tap into other people's talent just like I have got talent to detect foreseeable flaws.

If you are really good in marketing like you said you don't need to start this thread in the first place. By now you should know exactly where to go to find out if there is viable market for tattooing, graphics and hit the start button.

    Happy day..

Yes! Build a site to sell his products, but list his stuff on Etsy first...it's the easiest little search engine to manipulate! I've had such huge success doing some SEO to my listings, cross linking, etc...and boom! Then, you can build a list of clients and continue to market to them! All the best!

    Hi,

First of all, I think that'skind of selfish of you. Why don't you ask his opinion? Maybe he doesn't want anything to do with Internet Marketing or the Internet. What you like may not be what he likes.

Good luck with your venture. Let us know if he thinks it's a good idea. :-)
