Need advice for getting my wife started in affiliate marketing

My wife does not work. She stays home and takes care of our daughter. I was considering in getting her started in affiliate marketing. I could explain to her the basics of affiliate marketing but I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a resource that can tell her all about affiliate marketing and get her started. She would be considered a compete newbie that does not know anything about the internet at all. She only knows how to use Facebook and email.

Thanks

Have you looked at Empower Network, or even Big Idea Mastermind?

They have great marketing training programs and is precisely what I would recommend to stay at home and inexperienced marketers.

Good point. I have a full-time job and don't have much time to get into affiliate marketing. If I could get my wife educated and motivated on affiliate marketing I can partner with her and guide her on doing certain tasks.

She is probably thinking the same thing... I have full-time job taking care of our daughter and don't have time to get into affiliate marketing.

So, do it yourself. Many Warriors have day jobs and spend their nights working their business. Quit making excuses, just do it.

Get her to join the War Room and start reading and learning, at least 2 hours of serious study time in there on a daily basis. After 2 or 3 weeks she will know enough basic info to get started.

YouTube has good videos as well. She can learn how to do lots of things there. She can search for "create a free weebly blog" or "create a wordpress blog" or "how to create a paypal buy now button" etc. etc. etc. on YouTube and start learning that way...

Here is a simple explanation that I gave to some internet illiterate people:

"Do you talk with your friends about movies you saw and liked? Do you send them to see it? Do you share your experience about a shoe store if you liked their products and service?"

    Most women answer - Yes!

"OK. So you will do the same on the internet, except you will get paid for every referral that buys something. Maybe your phone company or cable company or whatever company once already told you: tell a friend, send a friend and we will give you a month free or something like that".

Affiliate marketing is just that - only on a different scale.
You send me a buyer > I give you a "commission" (i.e. percentage) of my profit to you as a thankyou

Don't overcomplicate it with books and courses etc. The basic idea is nothing more tha what I wrote above.

    Technicalities...? Well, that's another issue.

Wow what a great advice. I never really thought about it like that. So
      simple but yet so true.

Need to keep things simple to make this business work.

    Hi EJM,

If she joins WF, I would be happy to steer her in the right direction. I do this for a living - helping mothers.

If she's interested in affiliate marketing, here are some ideas for her to consider in the meantime:

    Newbie-Friendly Ideas for Moms

Single Product Review (Perhaps Aimed At Women):

    1. Create a review landing page;
    2. Drive traffic with Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, forums, groups.

    Blogging:

    1. Choose a niche she would enjoy writing about;
    2. Drive traffic with the above, including guest blogging, social bookmarking, press releases, articles, pdf sharing sites, directories, create unique content, instagram, non-spammy commenting, viral content, offline promotion.

    Article Marketing & Syndication

Article marketing is far from dead; the game has just changed. Instead of using EZA, consider other places to post articles where the resident site has authority. If you have money to invest, syndication is an option. EZA, actually, is still good for syndication (and free); just takes longer.

All of the above needs to be expanded upon (greatly), but maybe they'll give her some ideas to run with.

OP. i'd recommend not buying anything mentioned in this thread. She needs to spend time reading free information herself for awhile to find the direction she wants to go.

I'll say this: If she isn't passionate about, or at least truly interested in affiliate marketing, it will be a waste of her time. Has she expressed interest in this?

If she has limited internet skills but she has a real interest in learning, she can succeed. There is a wealth of freely available information here on WF and elsewhere, which would provide her with almost everything she'd need.

If she has limited internet skills, and limited interest in pursuing this, I'd say this isn't a great idea.

Tell her to join Wealthy Affiliate - Online Business Starts Here (free) and learn all about how building a website and making money online works.

Then, she can come to the WF and ask about everything she doesn't understand.

And finally, she can put what she's learned into action. Of course, you'll help her every step of the way.

Make sure she's as excited about the idea as you are. Otherwise, her interest will fade quickly. Find a topic that not only has a good market potential -- but that she'll enjoy reading, learning and writing about.

She can probably find all the information she'll need here on the forum. If anything is unclear -- many people will be happy to answer her specific questions.

    Good luck! Rose
