Thank you page or Sales Page in 2014?

Hello, Warriors...
I'm wondering what would be the best to do after your squeeze page visitors opt in:
A) To send them to an offer(sales page)
B) To send them to a thank you page
Which will be the best for your new subscribers in 2014 and Why?
I know that there are supporters for both and all facts sound logical...:confused::confused:

I would just send them to a thankyou page.

They just signed up presumably for some free offer and to hit them up front seems too self serving.

Your more likely to get unsubscribed as that is what I probably do.

You sell in the days or weeks to come with your followup emails

Send them to a thank you page after they opt in. This is the best. If you send them directly to a sales page it can very highly convince them to opt out. If you have a free gift related to your niche (like a free ebook) it will be perfect. After they opt in a confirmation mail will be sent to their mail address. And after they confirm, just send them to a thank you page where they can also grab their free gift.

In forward with follow up mails you can send them to sales pages. But be careful, don't send follow ups directly with the offers. Just describe about the product, give some information and if they are interested they will just click on "click here to learn more" or something in that sort where than they will decide to buy or not. If you directly send them the offers with the follow ups, this also can cause them to opt out. Otherwise you may be considered to be a spammer that only sends offers.

If you have your own products, It would be best to send them to an OTO page. other wise, if you are promoting affiliate products, it is best to send them to a Thank you page and you just pitch your offer on that thank you page and in the follow up email.

But if you so much want to send them to an offer page, you could create a thank you page which refresehes to an offer within say like 10 to 15 seconds. On that thank you page, you simply tell the subscriber to check their email for the download link.

You then send them an email with their download link. You could also pitch your offer on the download page.

Send them to both – simple.

At the top of the page, thank them and below the thank you, have your sales page or a link to an offer.

    All the best. Regards.

    • Sending them to a sales page or an OTO screams desperation on your part. Presuming you want a long term relationship with the person who just signed up with you, you can afford to wait before presenting them with another offer.

Sending people directly to a sales letter is not called desperation, its called marketing. Are you in business to make friends or to make money.

You need to remember that quality content is not always free. You must consider that what you are offering will do more to help the new subscriber than what you are giving away for free.

Plus, if you are doing things correctly, your free content should be a presell for your main product you are promoting.

        Best regards,

Agree, why not send to both? You can send them to a short Thank you page with a Step by step instructions like:
      Step 1: Confirm your email
      Step 2: Download your report
Step 3: Check out this special offer. (link to OTO)

Plus mention your OTO in PS in a welcome message.

I test out both in every offer I involve myself in. Takes time but it's worth it.

A simple thank you page is a real waste of valuable real estate... This is the only moment when you have 100% exposure to your subscribers. After that, you are lucky if 15% to 30% (depending on your niche and a lot of other factors) of your subscribers will open your email, let alone click on the link that will get them t your offer...

If you are in the IM niche, people would even expect a special offer - and if you don't want to look "desperate" have your offer on the same Thank You page, just below the Tank You message.

    Just test it out.
Do some solo ads and test which one is more profitable.
    Use tracking. Such as Prosper202.
If I were you I would have a thankyou page that redirects to a salespage.
Even if they don't buy at least you have the email.
But really test it out for yourself. It will be more profitable for you in the long run.

Many variables at work here so you're best bet is to test.

I haven't done anything free for a while but if I do in the future I'll most likely send the subscriber to a Sandwich page which is where their free gift will be.

At the bottom of that page I'll put a link to a relevant sales page.

This way I've instantly delivered on the promise on my squeeze page AND I have the ability to instantly monetize.

    All the best

Put something in front of them that can make you money, especially if you are spending money to acquire these leads.

The more closely related the offer is to what they opted in for the better.

The whole goal in building a list is so you can sell to them. best time to sell to them is right after they subscribe and sent to an offer page. its like having a 100% open rate.

Primary focus should be on how to make money and not preventing them to unsubscribe. and if you do it right your unsubscribe rate will remain the same.

One way to do that is to over deliver on your free offer they get from subscribing and over deliver on what your selling

The answer is very simple. If your in business to make money, send them to a sales letter. I send them to a sales letter all the time and have very few opt outs for doing it that way.

One of the best options I've tried that's worked well is on the thank you page I give them the "cyber hug" of thanking them first... and then below this a quick questionnaire for them to participate in (completely optional) that will dependant on their answers will take them to a low hanging fruit offer, or give me feedback on what their biggest issue and problem is they're looking to solve.

Try it out sometime... works like a charm!
