So I've been watching tonnes of affiliate marketing videos on Youtube this last 2-3 weeks and really want to get started but my problem is I'm not sure on what the exact step by step process should be. Can anybody give me a step by step process in layman's terms or point me towards video tutorials (paid or free) that I can follow exactly in order to get up and running?

Thanks =)

Here's a little something for you.

    1) Find a Hot Niche where people are spending money

Keep it in one of the main 3 (Money, Health, Relationship)
    2) Set up a squeeze page to capture leads
Offer a freebie/bribe to give them a reason to opt in
    3) Direct new subscriber to a "one time offer" where people are directed to after they opt in
This would be an affiliate offer in your case
    4) Set up a series of auto responder messages that deliver valuable content and super targeted promotions
    1) Welcome Message

    2) Did you get your download yesterday? Here it is again. Then offer some more value related to what they opted in for.

    3) Pull a piece of the sales copy from the affiliate offer and use it as an angle in today's email. This could be a testimonial, or a few key bullet points of what the product offers.

    4) Send them another gift and more value.

    5) Hard sell for the affiliate offer again Compel to Take Action.
Keep building a relationship and building the know, like, and trust by adding value.

    5) Drive traffic to your squeeze page via paid (solo ads, ppc, FaceBook ads etc) or free

And there you have a very basic plan my friend. I hope it helps!

    Make it a great day,

Great post by Joe above for you.

I want to emphasize that you find a problem that people need solving BEFORE you find product.

Most people find the product first and then try and figure out how to sell it. Wrong way round.

I currently have stumbled across Glen Allsopp on viperchill.com. I just found him yesterday, but as a fairly new player in the IM game, his site has tons of info. Maybe you'll find something useful there.

I'm new to the warrior forum so I am not quite sure about the rules regarding links, so I will not include a link just to be on the safe side. However, you asked for free training, so I suggest checking out the link for the free YouTube course in my signature. Hope it helps and good luck.

Here is what I would do:

Go to product launch websites, such as muncheye, jvzoo, jvlaunch

Find a product that comes out in a few days (7-10)

Create a review vid with screen capture software such as jing or screencast-o-matic.
Now this review vid is going to be highlighting key points that help inform the potential buyer of why purchasing this product will make their life easier.
Tip: Use the bullet point usually given on the jv page as a guide on highlighting the benefits of the product.

Next: Upload your vid to youtube and optimize it for the keyword your targeting. For review vids its usually going to be; "product name" + review, or "product name" + bonus. Summarize what you said in the video into your vid description using your keywords as well.

Next send some social bookmarks, and backlinks via fiverr

Now you should see your vid rank and make sure to put your aff. links in the vid description either directly or use a service such a bitly to get a shortened, cloaked link.

This is my process that I have learned when it comes to making review vids

      Hope this helps

You've already gotten some really great advice. Here's what has worked for me:

        Choose a niche.

I know, easier said than done.....in my case I chose something I was personally interested in and it just so happened that it was a hot niche. If your hobbies and interests are not in demand, I would head over to JVZoo, Clickbank, and WarriorPlus to see what topic has a lot of offers that are high converting.

Look for discussion forums in that topic.

You want to make sure there are active discussion forums on your topic. Join them. Especially the ones that allow links in the signature area.

Begin contributing to the discussions on the forums BEFORE you add your link in the sig. For example, say I have chosen products on Clickbank about learning to play the bass guitar. I would join the guitar forums and contribute to conversations regarding things relating to the bass guitar. If you happen to already play the bass guitar, you can start establishing authority in the forum right away by offering expert advice to newbies. After a few weeks, add your sig link.

        Write an ecourse.

While you are linklessly contributing to the discussion forums, create an auto responder ecourse. You are going to offer this ecourse on how to play bass guitar for free to people (over the course of a time period (5,7,10 days) ) that click your sig link and sign up at your squeeze page. (that you will also be creating behind the scenes in this first few weeks) You want to write an extended ecourse because this kind of forces people to give you their real email addresses and look forward to opening your emails each day. It's good to get them in the mindset of wanting your info because when they sign up for your ecourse, they are also signing up for your ongoing newsletter. (Which you inform them of before they sign up)

Nurture your list to keep them around.

After they have finished the ecourse, continue to send them extremely valuable information. Keep them engaged. Nurture them. Give them insider info that no one else is offering. Rise above and beyond their expectations.

        Promote your affiliate products.

You never ever want to promote a crappy product to your list. Only products that are valuable and will benefit them in some way. Otherwise, all the hard work you have done to earn the respect of your list will tank. I always try to test a product out before recommending it. And if I don't have a chance to actually use it myself or review it if it's an info product, I always disclose that.....or should I say I will disclose that because to date I have never promoted an affiliate product I have not personally used and loved.

This method works... For everyone involved. It's a win win for both you and your subscribers. You give them what they want, and in turn they repay you by trusting your judgement and trying out the products you recommend to them.

It's a real legitimate honest sustainable business model. And the best part about it is it's totally scalable. It can be as small or big of an operation as you want. It all depends on how much work you are willing to put in.

        Hope that helps.

I strongly disagree. Beginners should find small niches they can compete in or easily dominate. Try to find a new, rising product.

If your hobbies and interests are not in demand, I would head over to JVZoo, Clickbank, and WarriorPlus to see what topic has a lot of offers that are high converting.
Or have a lot of traffic and low competition.

Also Odigger.com, search newly added products.

Awesome points laid out above by some members.

But before you get involved with any of that stuff, you really need to be clear on exactly what you are looking for.

    What do you really want?

1- How much money are you looking to make?

2- How much time are you looking to invest?

3- How much money are you looking to invest?

4- Do you have a one year plan? It usually takes the brand new person about one year to get any biz, any niche and even any blog up and running to full momentum. And that is because they are learning new skills.

5- Do you really believe that you can make it online?

    And lastly...

Not every niche or area is for everyone. Find the one that is right for you.

    How?

    By using your gut.

Follow your intuition. It will never steer you wrong.

While I am making money online, I am not making it in a niche that I am passionate about.

While one can do this with some of the methods recommended in this thread, I want to encourage you to first figure out some subjects you are passionate about.

THEN look under that umbrella to see if you can find a product or service to sell.

Because working in IM on a boring product that doesn't attract viral interest, that doesn't attract raving fans who love to talk about your niche or share the products or info about your products, is:
    a) not going to be much fun for you
    b) going to be harder to write for
    c) going to be very difficult or impossible to get legitimate social signals and natural "shared" backlinks with

So I think the first post you got above is an excellent model. But try to do that within a niche you know about and are passionate about. By doing that you will be more likely to have success, and you will certainly have more fun.
