There is an age-old saying that goes "you can't get a job without experience... and you can't get experience without a job"

This is the situation I find myself in. After high school I immediately started to study. I always thought that after I graduate with my degree, I would walk into a marketing position earning 30000ZAR. unfortunately I find myself in in 2014 and I can not find anything. I went for an interview at a digital marketing company and I was rejected unfortunately. I have applied for many vacancies on the internet without any luck.

What routes can anybody suggest. I would love to get into the digital marketing industry but I have no experience with SEOs, SEM, PPC, UX, Adwords or any of the essentials. I would also love to get into Market research...

I have a BBA(marketing management) from IMMGSM
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Marketing Management | Undergraduate | Current Programmes | Academic Programmes

I am new to the forums, I have not yet had time to introduce myself, but I hope to hear from you guys.

Regards
-RH

Try to look for internships. IT is notoriously tough to get into so you just got to keep banging on doors until somebody lets you in.

Spend 5 hours a day researching SEO, SEM, SMM, asking questions here, and viewing old threads, and you'll very quickly know all there is to know about them.

Put what you learn into practice with a blog.

      Hi Janice,

I was in a similar situation to you a few years ago with my civil engineering degree. I got sick of being rejected via online applications so i just started cold calling all the companies I could find related to civil.

I called up about 400, 50 told me to send in a resume. One said I could come in and check out the place.

I worked with them for a week and later got a job in the biggest or one of the biggest construction companies in Australia!

I don't believe in online applications, ALWAYS call up. If they like you over the phone and see your brave enough to do this, they'll take more notice with your app.

      All the best!

      ~ Mateen
