So I'm not gonna pay for any course or program by any guru .. I want to do it all myself .. from scratch .. all I can pay for is buying and hosting a domain !!

so I want some help on where to start from ? what to do firstly ?? do I have to build website and start learning web designing ? or learning about writing articles ? or how to get traffic ? or what ?

Hi and welcome to the forum

First I would create a squeeze page to collect email addresses.... then after someone opts in, redirect to your sales page (you can get PLR products even for free with salespages)

you can start with free traffic like posting on forums, blog comments, yahoo answers, facebook and twitter and so on....
if you have some money to spend, buy a solo ad and get more subscribers...
set up an autoresponder to send emails on a regular basis to your subscribers.... to keep in touch and promote products as an affilate....
that would be worth to try....

As mariomvr mentioned, the very 1st step is to pick a niche so you can build your site around that niche...

The best advice I can give is prepare to work, HARD. Don't get hypnotized by clickbank account screenshots and expect those kinds of #'s in the next month....

Its good that you know it won't be easy, but you don't know just how hard it will be until you actually try it. If your truly willing/ready to put the time/work in you can do it, but determination will be needed. You WILL fail before you succeed, so try to get into the correct state of mind before getting into all the mechanics (ie. building a site, picking offers, driving traffic ect.).

Ok you mean to prepare myself ( mentally ) before starting , right ?

and please tell me .. for how long do I have to wait or in other words have to work until getting my first income ?? or how long the plan should be to earn my first income in order not to fail and keep going ?

    Hi Abram,

The very first thing that you need to do is to find a niche market that you want to build your website around.

What do you like to do as a hobby? What kind of academic or professional experience do you have? What would you like to learn (forget about the make money online market).

Examples: maybe all of your life you have been working out so your fit, or you cook very well, or you plan a musical instrument or maybe you have organized in the past amazing local parties. These types of experiences are all potential markets that you can tackle. So go through that first.

As soon as you get a good list of ideas, validate them in terms of comercial viability. So go to google adwords keyword tool (just google for it) and see how many people are looking every single month for what you're going to sell or talk about. Also use marketplaces to see if there are any products being sold. You can use clickbank, Amazon, DHgate, JVzoo and many other places to see if there's anyone making a killing on that market.

Then pick a domain name and hosting company, install Wordpress and get a Wordpress theme for your blog.

The key here is to do proper market research first. I've created a video series on the topic you can see it on my signature file.

    Hope that this helps.

    Best Regards
    Mario

    1. Find a problem.
    2. Solve the problem.
    3. Market the solution to relevant people.

A website is a means to market your solution. And no, you don't have to know web design, although that does help.

You only need to write articles if you are planning to keep up a blog.

There are a plethora of traffic generation methods out there, free & paid. Research them.

Thank you JRJWrites for replying .. thanks for the good info .. now I need to ask .. is it ok to start with a blog or it's better to have a personal domain and website ?

Surffab and Mariomvr both offer excellent "big picture" advice. I would add that you need to stay focused on your business plan. Affiliate marketing is full of ways to get distracted, even here on this forum.

You can and will learn a lot here. Use the search feature to reseacrh various topics. Read some of the articles listed here. Learn, learn, learn - good luck!

    Hi,

    1. First of all - "BUILD YOUR LIST FIRST"

    2. Then build the KLT - Know Like Trust formula with your list (get them on
your side by providing useful information)

    3. Add relevant offers (affiliate or your own) within your emails that offer
solutions with common problems that your readers are happy to pay for.

    4. Build a STRONG BACK END over time.

Over time you can create your own products, offer one on one training &
    coaching to your readers.

So as you progress you are creating a range of products and services within
your sales funnel that offer low to HIGH ticket offers in your business.

Again you can have people that stay on your list for months and even years.

This is why YOU must be patient and think LONG TERM rather than just
looking at your short term results.

Once people get to know you it is far easier to make sales and offer HIGHER
PRICED ticket offers to your readers.

Even if they're affiliate ones too.

    All the best
    Gavin

You don't need any of that if your direct linking with paid affiliate marketing, just some money in the bank to test

    Greetings Abram,

Welcome to the forum. I was where you are several months ago. Unfortunately the replies you have received so far assume you know and understand more than you do. I will attempt to explain:

Yes, you need a squeeze page early on to build your list but before that you need somewhere to host your squeeze page, and before that you need a domain name, and before that, you need a niche. So basically work in reverse order of what I've just listed. Around the time you get ready to build your squeeze page, you can think about getting an autoresponder.

There is a a domain wwww.wordpress.com (also wordpress.org, but forget about that for now) that offers free blog websites but you don't want that. There are several threads here about why you don't want free hosting and I recommend doing a search and reading them. The WordPress that everyone is referring to is a blogging software program that most website hosting companies offer. Also, you don't want to get your domain name from the same place that hosts your website. Again, do a search to discover why.

WordPress is easy to install and costs you nothing additional. There may be hosts that charge for it but I wouldn't pick one that did.

Here again, this assumes you know WAY more than you do at this point. Not that it isn't good information; it is, you just don't need it yet.

You said you've been researching only for a few days. I would strongly recommend that you SLOW DOWN, take your time and try to absorb what you are learning. I know, it's hard to do when you are wanting to learn and get started, but trust me, you will benefit in the long run. It is VERY easy to get overwhelmed by all of the information that is available about affiliate and internet marketing.

This is a great place to learn and share information but you will also receive some conflicting information. That will take some time to sort through.

I know you said you don't want to pay for a course or guru, but there are a few resources worth paying for, hiring a mentor is one of them. Again, take your time, do your research and work with someone that you like and trust and isn't charging too much. Quality can be found at nearly every budget if you are patient and you look hard enough.

If you have additional questions, I would be happy to steer you in the right direction.

    Good Luck!

      Welcome Abram

Here is what I would do if I was first starting out. Took me awhile to realize it, but in the end it comes down to having a list and people to market to.

Squeeze Page(offer a free guide, plr, etc.)-->Affiliate Product---> Email Marketing.

Also, I would start making some affiliate review vids on hot products to bring in more income to pay for some traffic to really ramp up your profitability time.

That's very negative mindset to have..

    It's NOT that hard
And your validation of not hiring a guru is NOT decent, I get it there are so many guys hungry for your money but you should still be willing to invest into yourself..

I think the basics have been covered well in this thread, so I won't repeat them. A few tips:

    1. If you use WordPress you won't need to worry about designing your website beyond picking a free theme that suits your mental picture of what your website should look like.

    2. If you go down the route of not spending money on a course or mentor (which is a valid route to take) , prepare to learn fast through making loads of of mistakes!

    3. Consider paying someone to write 500-1000 word articles for your site IF you want to target the English speaking market. It's equally valid to go down the path of marketing to your own language speakers. This may narrow your target market, but the plus side is you will have less competition.

    Good luck!

    Welcome to this Forum

First of all before deciding on what to do, choose a reliable online business model. In order to do that, you may have to start purchasing courses or perhaps pay for a mentor that can personally guide you on the business model that you've going to pick

There're plenty of good marketers around here with massive reputation and track record in running a profitable online business. Before paying for anything online to learn, checkout the FREE posts, tips, ideas or perhaps case studies here on this FORUM.

Since you're interested in affiliate marketing, in my opinion the best way to do this is through list building.
