Ha! I was just thinking the same thing yesterday. I noticed a lot of "what would you do with $100 (or whatever amount it happened to be" type threads. Seems like a roundabout way of trying to get people to spill their secrets.

I even thought about responding by saying "give the money to me and I'll give you a few tips."

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way.

If you type in something like "make money clickbank" you get about 1,000 threads, and maybe 5-10 of them are ones like this with genuine information.

Just make sure it's something you can make an AUTHORITY site on. I'd probably be bored if i read a huge site about teeth whitening or dental care... lol

Try something like fitness, weight loss, getting a six pack, getting a girlfriend...getting a boyfriend, making money online, forex, investing etc

The things people are more DESPERATE for and will pay quicker

Wow,

This is going straight into the resources section of my blog lol. I cringe when there's anything got to do with SEO but I like how the article writing is outsourced. Definitely trying this method + it looks like a good long term strategy as well!

And hundreds of thousands of people are making money. Some more than others.

If you come into this game with a scarcity mindset that bc there are so many people vying for the same 95 options, you can't make any money, then you're setting yourself up for failure.

Saturation is a state of mind my friend.

There is plenty of money to go around for everyone who goes out and gets it, even you.

I just set my father-n-law up in a niche that you would consider, by your standards, is saturated, yet he's already making more than $2 back for every $1 he's spent on traffic.

Most people give up within a week or 2 because they are simply just weak minded individuals.

People that are too scared to take action, or think a niche is "too saturated" are one of the reasons are probably not meant to be making money online.

I just listed out a SURE fire method of making money, and you're complaining because you think the products are too saturated, or because it requires actual work?

Think OUTSIDE the box - you don't HAVE to rank for product reviews - rank your site for 10, 20, even 100 long tail keywords and include call to actions that direct people to your reviews on specific products.

I don't care - I"ll go into ANY niche and crush it, because I don't let things like "only 95 products" hold me back...

Any tips for a newbie who is overwhelmed at the sheer number of products on ClickBank? I don't see how I could create an authority site in a market with thousands of other authority sites in existence?

Read my #1 post again - I'm pretty sure that was the whole point of it

Most people create small 3-5 page sites - I suggested doing 25+ page sites....IE: a minor authority site (and you of course can build upon it)

But I'm wondering if you saw this question by AZJOSH a page ago...

I was wondering the same thing myself Jeff. Would you mind sharing a few ideas on how you do this for for best results - in a layman's sentence or two.

And are you happy to tell us what you think is the best WP theme to use - the 'bloggy' looking one I imagine - but what's it called?

Crap - I'm sorry guys, I forgot to put this thread on 'notify' and didnt check for new posts after the first week or two of my posting it LOL

What I did was simply a review of the product

I just did a review, explained what's in the members area, took SCREEN SHOTS of the members area and posted them in my review.

Basically - I bought the program, here's what's inside it, here's why I like it (or don't like it)

Edit: As for themes, DON'T be afraid to invest in a PREMIUM theme - they make the site look PRO and they DO help with conversions

I use a theme called Elegant Biz - but for some reason they only sell it once every few months. Stupid if you ask me, the theme's AMAZINGLY beautiful

Search Clickbank.com for a niche that has at least 5-10 hot selling products (with gravity over 50, or 25 if it's a less popular niche

I agree with everything in your helpful post, but in my experience you can make good money with products that have a gravity as low as 2,3 or 5. Less competition makes it easier to make money from Clickbank.

Everybody says stick with the high gravity stuff and in the IM niche, but that is inaccurate IMHO. I love products with low gravity that's not in the IM niche.

If I see a product with a gravity of 10, not in the IM niche? It's like finding a product with 1000 gravity

The OP could go into more details if he wanted to, to make even easier for newbies, but everything the OP said is good, you could follow everything he said. Low gravity only means less competition.

One way to check if there's money being made from it, you could go to Google and add the keywords in the search bar, and look to see if there's ad's. If you can go 2,3,4 pages back and still see ads, you know people are making money hand over fist in that niche.

This right there ^^^ is a good way to see if it's a niche with hungry buyers. Anytime there are embarrassing problems with a solution online, people will turn to the net. Here is an example. Let's say a woman has a yeast infection and is looking for some yeasty creme or something. She is going to go online and try to find it discreetly on the net first, before she brings a tube of yeasty clean to the counter in front of people.

But seriously, this is an amazingly generous post. Jeff did not have to spend the time to write this. I only wish I was at the level where I understood most of it. I went to the keyword planner but don't know how to use it.

Also, I am kind of down because I just spent my third $100 on POF promoting a dating-tips clickbank product with great gravity and i pretty much got nowhere. I have two landing pages; one is an info graphic giving lots of info with an optin and the other is more of a traditional squeeze page. I've done lots of work; building them myself along with making banners so I aint lazy, but they are not working.

I also have a fitness site with a ton of content (all done by me including videos). It has a popup for a free ebook that promotes a different clickbank product (fitness) but I don't get much traffic.

I wonder if you can check out my site and the other dating-tip LPs, Jeff and maybe you tell me if I can use the above tips to convert my site to what you're talking about?

You know when something is a goldmine when you UNDERSTAND the market you are in, do your research into the market before picking the products. Once you have researched your market extensively then you will know what products are good and which are bad. Spend a week or two in the beginning doing this, trust me, it will save you a lot of time and make you a lot more money later on.

So would you suggest going after something I am familiar with already? I am really into travel, anything outdoor related, camping, etc but there is limited amount of products in this field besides some Disneyworld ones.

Now that question is a debate in itself, personally for me, I have to be interested in the subject. Thats different from being familiar, if I got an interest in it (Not a passion) I find it easier to study and write about because I want to learn it. For example, right now I am really into understanding the underlying biochemical reactions which relate to weight loss, not the same old thing every other weight loss site has but the actual science. I could read and write on that subject all day, it's not a passion but it interests me, ask me to write about weddings on the other hand, well, I'd rather jump! You got to find out what is best for you. I know some will pay people to write their content and they just enjoy the marketing (Perfectly fine and it works), you just got to figure your method out.

Hrm, I just went through a few posts here and there and I got to say some people are just not right for internet marketing. Clickbank being saturation? Cmon guys, that's just like saying Gyms are saturated or selling Cars are saturated. No need to explain here really.

Also, a lot of questions being ask here can simply be found with a quick Youtube search such as "how to pick a niche". The fact is making money on the internet is actually very simple in terms of the process. But people mistake that for it being EASY.

NO IT IS NOT EASY!

Losing weight is simple right? Eat healthy, exercise, do some weights maybe. Do this consistently and you will see results! But why are the majority of people who join gyms still overweight? Cause it IS NOT EASY!

Just my rant on this topic. Also, I'm sure if people were to share how much they had to spend or even lost in order to get their business up and running, others will find that their own situation isn't too bad. I personally had to borrow and load a total of $27K before I made my first $1000 back. Did I give up? OF COURSE NOT!

When I pick keywords for someone to write an article about, are they a keyword, or a key phrase? How can someone write an article about just one keyword? I'm a little confused about that. For example, if the niche is strength training, how is someone going to write an article with the keyword weight? or arm?

Keyword means a word or phrase that you type into the search field in google.

John Deere Tractors .... is a keyword
Lemons ... is a keyword
Lose Weight Without Spending Hours at The Gym ... is a (long tail) keyword.

So you can see that the word 'keyword' just means that thing that you type into the search field (more or less, anyway).

It's a bit deceiving because from the word 'keyword', you might think it just has one word in it. But that's not so.

I went to the keyword planner but don't know how to use it.

Then it's time to learn it. This is what stops many new marketers from following sound advice that WORKS - they stop at the first hurdle and wait for something to happen. Don't do that.

Google search - "how to use google keyword planner" - (no quotes necessary) - and you will find full info on how to use this tool. You might use the search on this forum, too, as I recall reading instructions about it here not long ago.

There is nothing in this method that you can't do - follow the steps and look up and learn the terms/methods you don't know. By the time you get to the end of the instructions - you'll know a lot more.

However, let's be clear here...

Finding a product, writing some reviews and setting up the whole site is the easy part.

Getting traffic is the hard part.

I just don't want the newbies to get the wrong idea.

There are always tons of threads like this, which is great. But most people leave out the part about traffic.

It's not as easy as setting up a site and 2 months later you are making $250 a day. Traffic aside, it depends on niche as well.

Sure, anyone cane pick a product, write some reviews and put up a site these days, but if you have no traffic, you ain't making money, so...

Again, the thread is great for those who want to take action. But please don't think just because he made that much money that fast, that you are going to have the exact same situation.

It may take you months or even years to start making any money, if you can get that traffic.

But hey, if you want to make money online, you have got to start somewhere and you have to work. This could be a good blue print for you to get going.

This is very true - once some people actually start doing this and post here - I've got NO problem sharing some of my backlinking strategies that are working - but really - when you DO build up a larger site - you WILL find you're ranking better and better for your keywords.

One more thing - internal linking is key too, so link within your site to other posts/pages on your site. Just look at any wikipedia page and see how they do it for motivation

The simple fact is this...once you decide what you want to sell, just build relationships and the rest will take care of itself...seriously! Take action everyday and talk to 10 new people everyday...everyday! The sales will come!

Actually your mistaken here. I make my entire living 100% online and have for years. I have worked for dozens of people who make there entire living online as well. Its not that they dont want to give up the 'key ingredient' its that there IS NONE. Literally everything anyone needs to know has been stated over and over and over again right here on the WF. The problem is not that people dont want to tell (because they do every day) its that people dont want to accept what there being told.

In my opinion, the reason why people start those threads is because they want to find an easy way to make money online...

That's why they will say that your advices - which are actually very good - require too much work and therefore they are not interesting to those people...

And they will again lose their time by starting those funny threads while the real answer to "how to make money online" (even for free) is right in front of their noses... And it was there for quite a long time...

I was just curious for this site particularly, how much did it cost everything to set up?
Correct me if I am mistaking, this is just my estimation. So there are domain and hosting (I'm guessing around 100$ for a year, at least that's average). Then, Article writing services (Let's say 20 articles, 5,5$ each, that's 110$).

So were there any other costs?

True, the blueprint is great. True, you start ranking more easily with a larger and more focused site. And yeah, thanks a lot for the generous share and your time and efforts.

But the core fact remains is that you need traffic to sell enough to make $250 per day (unless it is recurring billing, but given that you are less than 2 months into it, most of it would not be recurring billing just yet). And you do mention backlinking for traffic. And here's where the confusion begins in the Penguin era!

Honestly, if people knew how to get endless traffic (outside PPC/PPM etc), I am sure a lot would be motivated anyway to figure the rest out, such as, how to pick a product, how to pick multiple products, how to get a lot of content written, with respect to what competition etc. Again, it is true that the competition is also a factor of determining how much traffic you get, so there's no single pin-pointed answer possible I guess...

Well, I did spend alot on content - I'd GUESS $300 - then I used some high PR links from BHW for rankings. Keep in mind, I built a LARGE site with 50+ articles in hopes that google would see my site as an authority site, and rank me easier. It did, and with the high PR links I started throwing at it - it continues to. Granted, the links I did are probably NOT going to be safe forever - but they did move me to page 1 rather quickly for most product and author names - and my site's still ranking for most of those :-)

I think that people ask the same questions over and over again because they're just plain lazy. I wrote a response to two different posts two days in a row. One person asked a question one day and then someone asked the exact same question another day.

Has to be laziness. The search function is there not just for show.

There's nothing wrong with someone asking what would you do with $100 etc. Everyone hasn't seen those posts, so maybe someone else has a good idea to share. Also this is a post that will cost a few hundred dollars, which has nothing to do with what you are tired of seeing. People ask because they literally have very little money or nothing at all and are looking for ideas. If you would like to share with those people how it can be done with little or no money, then do it. If not then who cares if someone asks a question that's been asked before. They don't owe you or anyone else anything, unless you made a contract with them. So who really cares? I guarantee that there are different answers on each one of those same posts. That's why people ask, to get different ideas

good stuff! I never really focused my efforts on
clickbank but this method can also be used in other
affiliate programs such as amazon

Another way to make money without shelling out money
is to look for a problem in forums and solve it. Let's
say someone is in need of a writing service, look for a good
writer and get a commission from that service.

Always be sincere and give value. Learn how to negotiate.
Always create a win-win situation with your clients and partners
