I'm tired of all the "If you had to start over" or "what would you do with $50" threads...

Seriously guys - I know you're just trying to find what WORKS - but you're not going to get a different answer if you post the same question that's been asked 100 times already. You're not being clever or going to find out the "secret" by phrasing your question differently. Use the search feature, you're not the first person to ask that question - and it's probably been asked TODAY already...twice.

Want to make money online, really?

Here's what I do and it works.

  1. Search Clickbank.com for a niche that has at least 5-10 hot selling products (with gravity over 50, or 25 if it's a less popular niche - just make sure the sales page looks HOT and there is desperate crowds searching for solutions in that niche - forex is good, teeth whitening - not so much)
  2. Check the google keyword planner to see how many monthly phrases the products names get. Does the product name have over 200 searches per month? Good - it's a keeper.
  3. Find a hot with hot products? Good, buy a domain name related to that NICHE - not related to a product name. Get something that sounds authoritative, not SuperDuperRealProductReview.com - that just sounds silly and makes it quite obvious you're just trying to rank with a dumb looking domain name instead of the authority of your site.
  4. Contact EACH of the product owners via their affiliate pages and ask for a review copy of their product to review for your affiliate blog - you'll probably get responses from 50-75%
  5. Go to their affiliate pages and look for keyword ideas (many have keyword lists of KW's you can promote) and plug those into the google Keyword Planner (keywords related to the niche, NOT the product). If you can't find keywords there, start by typing in what YOU'D search for if you were looking for info in that niche (in the KW planner tool, again)
  6. Find 25-50 keywords that are searched for (world wide) MORE than 200 times per month - the more searches the better
  7. Download Traffic Travis FREE from Free SEO Software | The Best SEO Management Tool | Traffic Travis (non affiliate link) and plug your keywords 5 at a time into the SEO/Competition/ Keywords List and look for keywords that are medium difficulty or UNDER
  8. Rince and Repeat the process with Traffic Travis until you have 15-25 good keywords with over 200 searches per month and Medium or LESS difficulty.
  9. Go to iWriter : Article Writing Service | Get Content For Your Website, Cheap! and order 15-25 articles, 1 per keyword. ALWAYS use a 4 star writer and 500 words - you'll pay $5.50 per article and a tip if they write over. If you find a writer you like, use him as a favorite. If you find a writer you DON'T like, you can reject the article and ask for another one.
  10. While your articles are being written - start writing your own REVIEWS of the products you received access to. If you didn't get a response yet be patient - worse case scenario you might need to buy them. You want you review to BE REAL and show real SCREEN SHOTS from the members area and show people you took the time to review the product. Show them you've got it too and you're NOT just trying to sell it to them. (Bonus: Do a video review and post the video on youtube AND embed it in your blog)
  11. Moving on a few days later - you've got 5-10 reviews you've written, and 15-25 good articles on your niche. Set up a wordpress blog and plug your articles in, schedule them to post 1 per day for the next however many days. Optimize each post for SEO (if you don't know how, there are plenty of threads on here discussing this) DON'T just add the text and leave it like that, add images - add header tags, add bold and colored fonts. Make it look NICE. Ask yourself if you would read it. If you're un-sure, you probably need to make it look better.
  12. Use traffic travis and create a new project - add your domain AND all of your keywords. On the bottom RIGHT set TT to check the top 200 results (the default is 10). You can now check your websites rankings for the keywords, up to the first 200 results or 20 pages.
HOLY CRAP this thread became longer than I Expected. Forgive any typos or anything, I haven't gone back through in SUPER detail to look for any typos etc.

Anyways - I did a site like this that I started in Early December. I spent the first 1 1/2 months just adding articles - I added 50 that I had written for me (no I won't share my site). I also added the REVIEWS that I did - and am now making $250 a day JUST from this site consistently. I'm ranked on page 1 for multiple PRODUCT names in this niche and even product author names.

Let's see how many of you take action on this - and maybe I'll get into some simple linking stuff you can do for free, high PR links.

  • All those guys who are asking what to do with XX amount of money ,seriously guys give that money to me .

These threads will always be coming and i am always eager to get money ,so please donate it to me if you don't know what to do with your money
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Ha! I was just thinking the same thing yesterday. I noticed a lot of "what would you do with $100 (or whatever amount it happened to be" type threads. Seems like a roundabout way of trying to get people to spill their secrets.

I even thought about responding by saying "give the money to me and I'll give you a few tips."

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way.
  • As someone who is just getting started with ClickBank this is an awesome post, I am going to try this method. My goal is $50/day from 1-2 products which seems feasible.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • with so many such threads out there, anyone wanting to post a similar thread should first use the search button but people are either genuinely lazy or intentionally lazy and they just prefer to post these types of threads.
    • [2] replies
    • If you type in something like "make money clickbank" you get about 1,000 threads, and maybe 5-10 of them are ones like this with genuine information.
    • It's easy - just take action (not to sound cliche!)

But the search button is too easy! LOL

  • Great post!! Jeff knows his stuff.

    • Perfect man - keep us posted on your progress! :-)

Just make sure it's something you can make an AUTHORITY site on. I'd probably be bored if i read a huge site about teeth whitening or dental care... lol

Try something like fitness, weight loss, getting a six pack, getting a girlfriend...getting a boyfriend, making money online, forex, investing etc

The things people are more DESPERATE for and will pay quicker

      Thank you kind sir!
  • Wow,

This is going straight into the resources section of my blog lol. I cringe when there's anything got to do with SEO but I like how the article writing is outsourced. Definitely trying this method + it looks like a good long term strategy as well!

Kind of getting sick and paranoid with paid advertising although it's making me good money..
  • This thread is awesome. Solid advice for a beginner, everyone wants to make that money FAST. There is no such thing as making fast money without the money to spend... time and effort WILL pay off, if you follow the above structure.

    • Thank you all for the solid advice, and direction. This is a post to be bookmarked

"The Death Of "If I Had To Start Over..." Threads" LOL
    • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • Get sick all you want. All I am seeing from your post are reasons not to do it, but that's just me.
    • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • Funny, another "if you had $x to spend..." thread just popped up. They really are getting tiring.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I agree with everything in your helpful post, but in my experience you can make good money with products that have a gravity as low as 2,3 or 5. Less competition makes it easier to make money from Clickbank.

Everybody says stick with the high gravity stuff and in the IM niche, but that is inaccurate IMHO. I love products with low gravity that's not in the IM niche.

If I see a product with a gravity of 10, not in the IM niche? It's like finding a product with 1000 gravity
    • [ 3 ] Thanks
    • [1] reply
    • So if I happen to stumple across something in say the Travel or Sports niche which low gravity how would I determine if it's a gold mine like you said?

Would you still follow the OP's general guide or push it more on a squeeze page?
      • [2] replies
  • Hrm, I just went through a few posts here and there and I got to say some people are just not right for internet marketing. Clickbank being saturation? Cmon guys, that's just like saying Gyms are saturated or selling Cars are saturated. No need to explain here really.

Also, a lot of questions being ask here can simply be found with a quick Youtube search such as "how to pick a niche". The fact is making money on the internet is actually very simple in terms of the process. But people mistake that for it being EASY.

    NO IT IS NOT EASY!

Losing weight is simple right? Eat healthy, exercise, do some weights maybe. Do this consistently and you will see results! But why are the majority of people who join gyms still overweight? Cause it IS NOT EASY!

Just my rant on this topic. Also, I'm sure if people were to share how much they had to spend or even lost in order to get their business up and running, others will find that their own situation isn't too bad. I personally had to borrow and load a total of $27K before I made my first $1000 back. Did I give up? OF COURSE NOT!

Yeah, I'm getting a bit off topic but yeah, don't give up and work hard is all I can say
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Lucid, you crack me up.

You've been a member here for less than a month and you've already managed to offend every single Warrior Forum member, all 700,000+ of us, in just one single thread! You must now own the record!

Your quotes from this one thread just crack me up!

    • [ 4 ] Thanks
  • Happy Friday? Lol
  • When I pick keywords for someone to write an article about, are they a keyword, or a key phrase? How can someone write an article about just one keyword? I'm a little confused about that. For example, if the niche is strength training, how is someone going to write an article with the keyword weight? or arm?
    • [2] replies
    • Bump for amazing thread. I'm still a newb and trying to understand it all but I can tell the original post is one of the most informative threads I've seen on this forum.
    • Keyword means a word or phrase that you type into the search field in google.

John Deere Tractors .... is a keyword
      Lemons ... is a keyword
Lose Weight Without Spending Hours at The Gym ... is a (long tail) keyword.

So you can see that the word 'keyword' just means that thing that you type into the search field (more or less, anyway).

It's a bit deceiving because from the word 'keyword', you might think it just has one word in it. But that's not so.

      All clear now?

  • A lot of newbies are always asking how to get money... how to strike it rich...

But then they just sit around hoping for a golden filet to jump into their boat.

    You want my advice?

All you have to do is listen to Britney Spears.

    Work Bitch.

    • Then it's time to learn it. This is what stops many new marketers from following sound advice that WORKS - they stop at the first hurdle and wait for something to happen. Don't do that.

Google search - "how to use google keyword planner" - (no quotes necessary) - and you will find full info on how to use this tool. You might use the search on this forum, too, as I recall reading instructions about it here not long ago.

There is nothing in this method that you can't do - follow the steps and look up and learn the terms/methods you don't know. By the time you get to the end of the instructions - you'll know a lot more.
      • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • If I had $50,000 and was going to start over I would ... ask people on the WF what I should do with my $50,000 as Im starting over .. while blowing the $50,000

But yea your right .. everyone is looking for that 'secret' .. here is the secret .. there is NO secret!

  • I would not build a web site. I would start with building a mailing list.

While a web site is nice, a mailing list is the only guarantee for consistent income.
  • Hi there,

    Thanks a bunch -- just one Q.

Are you using ONLY SEO traffic?
  • Finally someone like me who gives away the keys without asking for anything! Self branding.... maybe? But big love to anyone who gives information away for free.

Great post and will look out for others from you.

    • Hey - it could work! LOL

Well, i'm glad you found my post useful but I'm not in the business of giving out free website reviews :-P - POF Is tough btw, you have to optimize and test and optimize and test and optimize and test some more - then if you're lucky you'll break even THENy you can start profiting

LOL - Don't read into it too literally, keyword/keyphrase=same thing
Yup - SEO and Social generated BY my seo and excellent shareable content

Thanks man - much appreciated! :-) I've been making a ton of money from a new site I built using this method and was in a giving/generous mood when I wrote this post
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I have two questions if you can please elaborate a bit on.

    1. If you had to start over, what would you do?
    2. What would you do with $50?

Just kidding, nice post but unfortunately 98% who read it will do nothing at all with the info that you provided.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
    • [1] reply
    • LOL - you had me for a second, yah 98% won't - so i'm not worried about saturation (not that I would be anyways)
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • This is a great thread. Thanks for that.

    However, let's be clear here...

Finding a product, writing some reviews and setting up the whole site is the easy part.

Getting traffic is the hard part.

I just don't want the newbies to get the wrong idea.

There are always tons of threads like this, which is great. But most people leave out the part about traffic.

It's not as easy as setting up a site and 2 months later you are making $250 a day. Traffic aside, it depends on niche as well.

Sure, anyone cane pick a product, write some reviews and put up a site these days, but if you have no traffic, you ain't making money, so...

Again, the thread is great for those who want to take action. But please don't think just because he made that much money that fast, that you are going to have the exact same situation.

It may take you months or even years to start making any money, if you can get that traffic.

But hey, if you want to make money online, you have got to start somewhere and you have to work. This could be a good blue print for you to get going.
    • [1] reply
    • This is very true - once some people actually start doing this and post here - I've got NO problem sharing some of my backlinking strategies that are working - but really - when you DO build up a larger site - you WILL find you're ranking better and better for your keywords.

One more thing - internal linking is key too, so link within your site to other posts/pages on your site. Just look at any wikipedia page and see how they do it for motivation
  • The sad part is most people don't give up the key ingredients and that leads to endless time, money and frustration for the newbie...naturally, that is done to ultimately sell them another shiny object. The simple fact is this...once you decide what you want to sell, just build relationships and the rest will take care of itself...seriously! Take action everyday and talk to 10 new people everyday...everyday! The sales will come!
This isn't as tough as they want you to think it is!
    • [1] reply
    • Actually your mistaken here. I make my entire living 100% online and have for years. I have worked for dozens of people who make there entire living online as well. Its not that they dont want to give up the 'key ingredient' its that there IS NONE. Literally everything anyone needs to know has been stated over and over and over again right here on the WF. The problem is not that people dont want to tell (because they do every day) its that people dont want to accept what there being told.
      • [ 3 ] Thanks
  • In my opinion, the reason why people start those threads is because they want to find an easy way to make money online...

That's why they will say that your advices - which are actually very good - require too much work and therefore they are not interesting to those people...

And they will again lose their time by starting those funny threads while the real answer to "how to make money online" (even for free) is right in front of their noses... And it was there for quite a long time...
  • An impressive post. Will try it out! Thanks!

I expect some thread to start off like that

and I guess no one really invest in themselves to get a WSO or join War Room.
  • This is a great thread, minus the apparent controversy. Actually, making money online is not nearly as hard as people make it out to be. You have to focus, though. And doing something like this is a thing worth focusing on.

  • Nice post Eljefe77, very useful information.

I was just curious for this site particularly, how much did it cost everything to set up?
Correct me if I am mistaking, this is just my estimation. So there are domain and hosting (I'm guessing around 100$ for a year, at least that's average). Then, Article writing services (Let's say 20 articles, 5,5$ each, that's 110$).

So were there any other costs?

    Thanks.

    • You keep hinting at sharing your linking strategies.... do you mind sharing a few tips? I'm always looking for new ideas Great post!

  • I think that people ask the same questions over and over again because they're just plain lazy. I wrote a response to two different posts two days in a row. One person asked a question one day and then someone asked the exact same question another day.

Has to be laziness. The search function is there not just for show.

Thanks for sharing or starting this post eljeffe77 because it is getting tiring seeing the same questions over and over again ... and I haven't even been here for that long and I'm noticing it.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • thanks. i think i am going to try this
  • There's nothing wrong with someone asking what would you do with $100 etc. Everyone hasn't seen those posts, so maybe someone else has a good idea to share. Also this is a post that will cost a few hundred dollars, which has nothing to do with what you are tired of seeing. People ask because they literally have very little money or nothing at all and are looking for ideas. If you would like to share with those people how it can be done with little or no money, then do it. If not then who cares if someone asks a question that's been asked before. They don't owe you or anyone else anything, unless you made a contract with them. So who really cares? I guarantee that there are different answers on each one of those same posts. That's why people ask, to get different ideas

  • good stuff! I never really focused my efforts on
clickbank but this method can also be used in other
    affiliate programs such as amazon

Another way to make money without shelling out money
is to look for a problem in forums and solve it. Let's
say someone is in need of a writing service, look for a good
writer and get a commission from that service.

Always be sincere and give value. Learn how to negotiate.
Always create a win-win situation with your clients and partners
