2014 Amazon Affiliates?

Is amazon still worth a shot as an affiliate?

I run an Amazon Seller Marketplace store, 100% feedback been going 2 years. I am about to get into KDP, so I figure if it doesn't cost much to start then why not have a shot at AM as well?

However I read that Google doesn't like affiliates anymore and things about click throughs not paying out on the Amazon system and kind of wonder if I have missed the trend (like adsense mini sites are now dead too) ?

Thanks

Yeah, it works pretty well and converts even better if you provide value to your readers

Adsense mini sites were spamming internet unnecessarily ,and most of them remain unpaid by Google ,so they died .

Affiliate links are still working ,but Google wants fresh and ad free results to its user ,Google only wants their own ads click nothing else.

If you're using them as embedded ads in your blog you're absolutely fine.

If you're running a store populated with Amazon products, you are also fine, but it's harder to get found in the clutter. But if your store is already ranked well, you should have no problems. As Google sees it, you're just a store, they don't know where you're products are coming from.

I hope I understood you correctly and I hope this helps.

Sure Amazon is working, January was my biggest ever month with over $1000 earned. (Site was started in November).

It really is very easy to make money with Amazon. Write a few good reviews (mine are 500-1000 words plus a youtube video, some articles comparing similar priced versions, a few general articles about the subject etc. Then in no time you will be earning.

A quick list of things you don't need: Anything from the WSO page.

What do I use: Paid Theme
High end hosting (costs $45 a month - fast and rock solid)
One paid plugin - special featured posts

None of my links are cloaked just a comment about click to see the latest price this goes at the top and bottom of the post, and the images click through to Amazon

It does take a lot of work, I have put 100's of hours into writing and creating the site. But if this goes on to earn 12k over the year then its not a bad return on the time investment.

I use it as a supplement to my main earners. It's not a ton of money each month but I do appreciate the extra. Plus it's almost like a service by pointing to good products on a reputable site.

In my experience, those who do best with amazon target high paying niches with minimal competition. Make your site as informative as possible with fresh content and Google should love it.
