New guy here, just starting out...

Hey warriors! i have been lurking for a week or so now and I really like the board. I have been in the website development field for 3 years now and I want to do more on the side of SEO and SEM and start making some real money,so thank you for having this board, it's great.

I have a question I know only you guys can answer:
One of my clients wants me to market his website as an affiliate.
In my marketing will be a link to his site for people to fill out a quote form.
When they click the link to go to the form he wants the user to be tagged as mine.
But the user isn't going through a chopping cart which I think is the normal way this works.

If you ca help me figure out a way to tag leads with an affiliate link that is NOT tied to a shopping cart or even just tell me where to go to find that info I would greatly appreciate it.

I don't ask questions without first looking it up myself but i am having some trouble here. i look forward to learning form all of you and some day teaching some newbies myself.

Thanks!

    Hi,

Welcome on board. Definitely come to the right place. The Warrior forum has some really clued up guys who are always willing to help.

Regarding your question, I'm really surprised you're being expected to set up the affiliate tracking. This is normally handled by the website/product owner or they use a third party system, something like infusionsoft etc.

Thanks Valley. I agree, but he isn't so savvy. He said he only knew how to set it up if it was attached to a shopping cart. He wants affiliate tracking just for his PHP quote form on the company website. I will check out infusionsoft and those like it.

I would think that you can use an affiliate software like post affiliate pro. You can have the affiliate link on your website where the customer will click and go to his website and fill in the quote. The tracking or conversion code for the affiliate program would be on the thank you page of the quote form.

I have not done this but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
