sponsors for my website

How i can get sponsors for website ,it is popular blog related to sports.I am looking for direct sponsors for my website so i can keep it ad free ,only selling ad spaces to my direct advertisers

Can such thing can be achieved ?

    How can it be ad free if you plan on selling ad space?

    With that said, there are decent ad scripts for cheap at for example hotscripts.com - you can add affiliate ads as filler ads if you don't have enough direct ads and rotate them.

      Ad free means i am not interested in filling my website with a lot of affiliate offers ads ,i am only interested in direct sponsor ads .I have done affiliate ads previously and i think a lot of ads kills your website visibility.

        Weather you're signed up as an affiliate and add their banner, or if that company buys a banner spot is irrelevant.
        I too are not a fan of alot of ads, that's why I suggested a script that would rotate ads so there's no more than a single banner (or whatever format) showing (or how many you prefer).

    I also agree to contact companies directly. One added suggestion when you to is to prepare an advertising sales letter which includes your traffic, demographic of visitors (to the best of your ability), and method of advertising that you're offering (banner, text link, in-post endorsement). Have this information readily available to minimize the back-and-forth required for the advertiser to make an informed decision.

    Other questions they might want to know:

    Can advertiser split test multiple ads?
    Do you offer a trial period (whether paid or free)?
    Why did you contact us specifically about advertising?

    Maybe approach companies that you've profiled in the past, or have linked to. It helps to have some sort of an established relationship or reason for contacting them. If you're already referring visitors to their website for a different reason and can show that, it might be more leverage to securing an advertising deal.

    I'd also agree with approaching sponsors. If you run AdSense on your site then you'll already know which companies to approach. But if you really know your niche then you'll know good companies in that niche.

    Just make sure you have good quality traffic to send them, and plenty of it too.
