Pay People to Interact on Your Site?

Hey everyone, so one of my sites is in the tobacco niche (hookah) so I can't do any paid advertising for the site. Everything so far has been done organically by SEO, social media, and community involvement. However, growth has been slow and I believe that I need to drastically change how I advertise the site if I ever want to monetize it (sites about 4-5 months old). I already have an autoresponder setup, but with low traffic and no huge social buzz I only have a few subscribers.

It's a review site so I was thinking of paying people to review products, write articles, and to signup to my list which would replace my advertising budget I would normally spend on Adwords or FB ads. I could even give them online giftcards (like $5) to hookah retailers online with my affiliate link.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience in paying people to interact on their site to help increase traffic, encourage engagement, and grow their list? Thanks!

I've been paid to interact on sites and I've been told that it really does help. I am thinking of doing it now for my site. Go on fiverr and get someone with great reviews, or go on odesk. Those are the two places I've seen and trust.

Wasn't thinking of fiverr or odesk. Was thinking of paying real people who are interested in the niche. Tons of people write hookah reviews on reddit, hookah forums, youtube, and other blogs but if I offered them money it would be a huge incentive to review on my site verse a regular hookah forum. Could even be like, "Smoke hookah and get paid" or something. Thoughts?

if you offer real people to give review for $5 no one would be interested i think you should try Solo ad and make your list.

You can hire people out for extremely cheap to do pretty much whatever you want.

For example, for $0.12 you can have people view, like, and comment on you YT video.

You can also control the rate at which they do it.

You have to promote your offer on freelancing websites they are easiest to get potential workers.I guess it is far easier for you .

If you go the direct way ,it will take your time and resources both. And again you have to hire VA for searching these peoples who can write on your website

        Thanks

If your site and content is any good you shouldn't have to pay people to interact they should willingly sign up, comment, share, buy or whatever you want them to do.

I'd go back and look at your content, opt in copy / offer etc and see if you really are giving people what they want, solving problems, offering value and so on.

Why don't you take some of your budget, invest in some free samples of your product, distribute those free samples to your most targeted prospects in exchange for REAL reviews of your products.

You can also ask people to submit their content for free in exchange for notoriety or a special bonus, but paying will almost certainly give you the best results.

I'm not entirely sure how this will help grow your audience though. Are you having this problem because you don't have enough articles posted? It sounds to me like there might not be a lot of people in the niche in general. If this is the case then sticking with your Adward and Facebook ads would probably be a better idea.

DiggitySEO uses micro workers and I have also to test things such as sign ups. Best advice is social media and doing promos. That should get your on the radar and add a section for news.

Yeah, I agree. Give away freebies.. discount coupons.. There are sites accepting those types of promotions.
