If you have had to pick 5 things that would get your blog noticeable what would it be and why?
#main internet marketing discussion forum #blogging #tools
  • Blogger, Tumbler reddit and stumbleupon are the best tools to get your blog noticeable in the world wide web.
  • ping your blog using blog pinging tools, promote your blog and blog posts on twitter, facebook, and others, submit your blog to some blog directories, join with other bloggers & connect blog.
  • ping your blog
    mention it on social network
    create some high PR links
  • None of the above tbh.

Your question is confused to begin with. You want to know about blogging tools (not sure what blogging tools you mean) or do you want to know how to get your blog noticed?

    To get your blog noticed....

Create epic content - it has to be special because people don't want mediocre content. You don't have to re-invent the wheel but you can't just copy what every other blogger does it at least has to be bigger and better or unique to a certain extent.

Share that content or links to that content in every possible worthwhile place you can. Comment on relevant blog posts in your niche with a link where it makes sense to do so, post about your content in forums, reach out to influential people and tell them about it, make it easy for people to share your content, syndicate free PDF versions out to various sources, post to sub-Reddits, publish to Stumbleupon, post it to your social media accounts and others (i.e. facebook groups / Pinterest boards / Linked In Groups, G+ circles), turn it into videos and post to Youtube, share on Slideshare and other document sites, create infographics etc.

Network with influential people in your niche - email them, tweet them, do something cool for them, write about them, link to them, ego-bait the sh*t out of them, comment on their blogs, help them, offer advice about how to improve their website, give them something for free. Just don't spam or annoy the life out of them begging for links. Be smart about it. Eventually they will do stuff back for you including linking to your stuff and mentioning you in posts, tweeting about you etc.

  • Using wordpress is the best choice I think, there a lot of several tools (plugin and themes) would get your blog noticeable
  • I'm with Stuart on this. Epic content first and foremost.
Be unselfish. Get out there and post on other blogs in the same niche. Same for forums.
Contribute articles to authority sites, unpaid. But in return you can link to your blog in your signature, and many of these sites will follow your social media links.
By all means start a facebook page if you don't have one. Be unselfish here as well. Like other similar pages, and make relevant comments.
Include links back to your blog on your facebook page.

It's not just about getting your blog noticed, it's about getting it noticed by RELEVANT traffic.

SEO highly encourages and promotes unique content. So a good content can get everyone's attention. It is also effortless. You can simply rely on how people will automatically share your article or link them to their blogs.

Using images or embedding videos that are relevant to your article can surely entice anyone. Of course you need an interesting topic that is current and can easily create a buzz in your chosen niche.

There is magic to articles or blog posts that are sincerely written from somebody's real life experience. It doesn't have to be life's dramas all the time. It can be practical tips on certain processes. It can simply be sharing one's success story. It can be about do it yourself topics. If you want it to organically grow in people's hearts, your topic or post must come from your heart.

As for the blogging tools, you need to capitalize in Social Media. Use the range and power of Facebook and Twitter in sharing your post or story. Ping your blog post via pinging tools. There are free blog directories that you can use where you can submit your blog posts. Use G+, Pinterest, Reddit, StumbleUpon or even Instagram.

Socialize with other bloggers or connect with those who belong to your preferred niche. You need to take time in leaving blog comments to certain sites or blogs. Make sure you leave sincere comments or useful information not just shameless plugs. There is such a thing as an online community. Participate and reach out --- It will do wonders!
  • I've blogged a lot over the years. Some of the best advice I've gotten was from this SEO BOOK article I read awhile back. But the fast and steady way to get people to actually read your blog is by creating, good, quality content that actually has something that the reader can gain some knowledge from.

It also helps, if you can tell a really good story while conveying this information to people as well. I recently wrote an article on how to gain Guru Status and used a story about how I was a band director at a military academy to illustrate my point. I tried to make it as interesting and informative as I could, using a real life situation to enhance and illustrate my point. I found that not only did people read my post but SHARED it as well.

I find that the problem with most Internet marketer wannabes is the fact that they want a quick and easy tool that will get their post all over the place. The problem-o with that is, even if you do find a shiny, new toy to blast your posts all over cyber space, IF THE INFORMATION ISN'T HIGH QUALITY AND THE POST IS BORING NO ONE WILL READ IT OR PAY ATTENTION TO IT! (There, I ranted. Ha ha !)

  • My mind.

Your blog is as good as your writing. Good content gets noticed, even in a complete lack of bells & whistles. Bad content gets ignored no matter how much "marketing" you do.
  • Build a following, and share your blog posts with your following.
  • 1 Epic content first
    2 List building
    3 Social media
    4 blogging communities
    5 Networking
  • I also think Stuart above had the right idea. Try including tricks and tips within your blog content to up its value and appeal. This article talks about 3 (sorry, not 5) good and concise points. Especially the lists parts! Web readers love lists- something about them screams fun, quick, and easy.

Good luck on your blog. Patience and consistency... Keep it up ;p

  • Other than great content - text, images and video:

    1. Wordpress
    2. SEO by Yoast plugin
    3. Jetpack plugin - automatically post to Facebook and Twitter
    4. Post to relevant forums, with backlinks (not only SEO, but to get interested people to your site)
    5. Proper landing page, to which you drive visitors to join your list
  • 1. Wordpress - Best blogging platform I've used.
    2. Commenting on other blogs in your niche - It'll get you traffic back to your blog and help you to build relationships with other bloggers.
    3. Social media - Join some social media sites and follow your fellow bloggers, join in with blogging chats and try and make connections.
    4. Decent blog posts - Try and write blog posts that will engage your audience, ask them questions and if they ask you questions reply in the comments.
    5. Give vlogging a go - Yes it is quite time consuming but it's a whole new audience you can appeal too.
  • I'll just offer one thing:

Make sure that your users interact with your blog in a way that creates a story. A story can be shared with others.

Lots of blogs end with a question so they can create more engagement in the comments section. Once a user has commented he/she is more obligated to your content and you have a way to bring him/her back once someone replies.

It's when people interact with each other, then stories are made and shared. I can tell my friends and family that I posted a comment and had X replies. I can ask my friends, a burning question I saw at your blog.

There are also other methods that create interaction between users.
    Can anyone offer more ways?
  • It's been said already:

    1. Create content that viewers want.
    2. Build an audience
    3. Build a list

SEO is good and all that, but if your content in crap, it won't matter

And IMO, a blog does not have to LOOK amazing….but too many folk get caught up in the aesthetics.
