Any wordpress plugins to auto set featured images from external links?

Hi All,

I run an amazon review website using associate goliath wordpress plugin. It automatically generates the posts using amazon API.

This means that the images in the posts are not hosted on my website. Since I changed my wordpress theme, the featured images for all the posts have now disappeared. I have looked for plugins to do this but I have had no luck so far.

This would need to be a plugin that did everything automatically as I have an extremely large number of posts.

If you intend doing that for the posts which has already been posted, I don't know but if you want to do it from scratch man go for Amazon Content Grabber plugin, which renames pictures from Amazon and uploads to your server/website. It has made me some hundreds from Amazon.

The "Media Tools" plugin. It hasn't been updated in a couple of years, but it still works. It will scan your posts for the first image and add it to the media library and set it as the featured image.

I haven't found any thing out there yet that can set the first external image as a featured image automatically.

WP Remote Thumbnail can do it, but you have to enter the url to the image manually.
    The money is the motive.
