    George,

I liked the flash magazine, the template etc but the font type was difficult for me to read even after zooming in. All in all I thought it was pretty slick!

I like the interface and the snazzy look and feel, but as stated, trying to read the font of any of the articles is not possible and switching over to PDF format takes away from the overall coolness the site is trying to project.

I'd rank the site a 7 out of 10 as is...

        Thanks Ray,

You can actually download the PDF from the navigation buttons at the bottom of the page.
As a bonus, We are making a PDF rebrander available so you can rebrand with your affiliate links and send it out to your own list for free.

I think this magazine looks really nice, I like the first cover the best and my second choice would be the fourth cover, when is the magazine coming out?

Magazine looks great, but I had to take the PDF option to be able to read it properly.
As a flash on the display, the legibility wasn't great.

George. I REALLY like this! Had to open pdf to read it properly, but good stuff. You mentioned its free is that as in period? forever? I'm of two minds: on the one hand I like having a physical magazine but on the other hand for archival purposes, pdf is better. you could do what Welcome? php|architect, PHP Magazine, PHP Conferences, PHP Books has done and offer both on a yearly basis for 29? I love this idea. KEEP GOING! If you're ever looking for a contributing author...PM me.

How much do you feel it is worth for a print subscription to a monthly Internet Marketing Magazine like iBusiness?

What about a monthly Magazine/DVD combo?

I too thought it was pretty cool, but that font has to go. It's doubtful I'd stick around for more then a page or two trying to deal with that font.

Besides the font being a little wacky to read, one thing I liked after just a few page scans is GOOD CONTENT!

I'd have to say I didn't care for the page turning version. As others have said, it was nearly unreadable, and I have a 22" widescreen.

In my opinion, I almost wouldn't bother with that and just use a PDF.

There is also a way to create those page turn things from within Adobe as I get another short magazine that builds that right into the file when I open it up in Acrobat Reader. That might be a better option if you want the coolness from turning pages with the readability of viewing the native PDF.

PM me and I'll email you a sample of what I'm talking about if you are curious.

    Hi George

Count me in as another vote for a font change. Maybe it's my old eyes but I had trouble reading it even when I used my 24 inch monitor - on my notebook I gave up immediately!

Also, I just printed one of the articles. Again the font makes it almost unreadable, and there is a lot of border space around the page. Also, the article I printed (one about ClickBank) printed on one page and then printed a second blank one.

The PDF printout is nice and readable.

I would suggest having an entry page to the site that lets visitors choose which format they want to view the site in - your fancy flash format or a more traditional one. At least one respondent to this thread complained about a slow load time, although I did not experience that (and our so-called "broadband" here in Hawaii is pathetic, about the speed of a good dial-up).

You can also count me in as a positive vote for the magazine itself, it really has some fine content and you've obviously put a lot of work into it. Best of luck with your success with it.

Are you perhaps accepting article contributions? If so please PM me!

    Aloha

I'd go with a pdf. Simple, straight to the point without the wait.

I like the monthly hardcopy. I look to sit down during the weekend a read. It's nice not to be in front of the screen and be able to read about IM

    Thanks,

    Andy

I would prefer a print version of the magazine, if it was a paid subscription maybe $3.95 an isssue if it is about 40-50pgs. long with a yearly subscription price of $29.95.

Another vote against the fonts on the flash version - totally unreadable to me. The sounds were a bit much to me too - but that's more a personal opinion since I could have turned off the sound as well.

Overall I liked the layout and content - nice job! But I would probably use the pdf option. And a gray scale version for the Kindle and other ebook readers might be a nice market as well.

I would be interested in a print version as well - to read offline, but I personally wouldn't pay anything over 29.95 for 12 issues. Would you be able to support a physical product at that price without adding some sort of other advertising? I'm figuring it'd be hard to put affiliate links in the print version ;-)

I am very interested in a version I could brand with my own affiliate links for my own subscribers/members. Very Interested!

    Again, nice job.

      Loaded fast enough for me....

I use a netbook, so appreciated having the page-turn area in the middle of the screen, so I don't necessarily need to read the entire page and then scroll before deciding to continue. Also appreciated the ease of scrolling down the page.

Didn't care for the font, or the page turn sound.

Didn't spend enough time reading to form an opinion about the content, but plan on returning to read more. I definitely like hard copy, but am trying to avoid having more magazines lying around! I'm also unlikely to print out the entire pdf, but would print specific articles of interest.

      Thanks for the sneak peek!

    Hi George,

Nice magazine! I'm the Marketing Director for Nxtbook - caught this post in my Google Reader when Kevin_Hutto mentioned our company. I like the other suggestions I've read. Here are two more I haven't seen mentioned:

    1. If possible, scale the magazine for the browser window. (Not sure if it's possible with the solution you're using.) There's a fair amount of real estate wasted around the borders.
    2. Don't hyperlink the entire page of full-page ads. When you do this, it makes it impossible for readers to zoom in to read them more clearly. If they try to do the click-to-zoom (which is what you're training them to do), they'll end up clicking out to the advertiser's site. On one hand, this IS a click and the advertiser might be happy, but the reader is just as likely to be annoyed. If possible, just click the advertiser's logo or url.

    Good luck!

I like the magazine overall - the pdf version.

As for online, I agree the font has to go,

Also, I thought the default settings in magnify mode - cursor becomes zoom, auto scroll when cursor hits bottom - were annoying. I would rather just click on buttons when I want to do any of that. But that's just me.

    Overal, though, good job.

Great Job as I also agree with others on the font and really would have said something about the page add thing but Nxtbook Media guy Marcus Grimm hit it on the head.

You are going in the right direction would love to ad this to my collection.
