    It depends on what links you are talking about.

    Links in emails, on your own pages, affiliate links, or what?

    What are you trying to track? Clicks, sales from clicks, opt-ins from clicks, something else?

    Google analytics used to have a module for tracking outbound links without having to set up redirects. Start there.

    several analytics programs offer heatmap tracking options. While not perfect for a variety of technical reasons they would give you a very good idea of click numbers. Depending on traffic level you may or may not be able to get statistically relevant data with such programs.

    What i mean is if you only generate 5 clicks, then the margin of error heatmaps generate may simple be great to help you much.
