Hello Warriors,

I was looking into the whole dropshipping thing and how to use it to make money on eBay. Doba is one that I heard was a good place to start.
Is anybody out there making any money using it. Is it worth signing up?
If not does anybody know any good legit ones to start with.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Not a good idea. They are after your $50 a month or whatever it is now.

Unless they've changed, the prices are not great and you'll find hundreds of others putting the same auction up.

Do this.. find a product you would like to sell that they offer, look on eBay and find that product in the "Completed auctions" See how many sold and for what price. I'll bet you see what I see...too much competition, too high to make any money.

Doba is really good. It has many products. Ebay recommends Doba so it is safe.

Yea, I got suckered into purchasing a year contract with Doba. I wish I can sell it. Needless to say, the prices are much higher than you can expect to see on Ebay. Many sellers on Ebay buy from liquidator companies.

They may be good and safe, and they do have many products but they are expensive...especially when you sign up for various "extras". The only one worth signing up for is the "push to eBay" - and even that feature may require added work on your part. Unfortunately for me, no sooner did I pick the products and started to sell on eBay...the products were no longer available through Doba within 2 months of my initial purchase. Doba had no explanation when I called to inquire why the source vanished. So unless you select a product in a category such as electronics, you may find your sales efforts rudely interrupted just when your customers are asking for more...and you have to announce that the items are no longer available.
I keep checking the Doba inventory on a regular basis but so far[1 year into the contract], there has been no replacement for the products that attracted me in the first place.
Too bad, it was a great system.

If you want products to sell on ebay - try China. The prices direct from there will beat any dropshipper.

If I were to undertake a drop shipping business model, these are the guys I would turn to,
Drop Ship, Light Bulk, Liquidation and Import Wholesalers from Worldwide Brands! .

Although I have not pursued this model, I have been a member of World Wide Brands for a long
time. And I feel they provide an excellent service and are trust worthy. Which goes a long way in
            my book.

Take a look and if you have questions, just contact them.

              Dropshipping Reality Check:

To get in with the really decent dropshipping companies you're going to have to be incorporated as a business and will need business credit (DUNS) and business references. Many will want guaranteed monthly minimums to even process orders.

Most companies have tiered pricing. Even though you might have all of the above, if you're not doing 5-6 figures per month, your pricing may not even be better than discount retail.

Most dropshipped items suffer from fierce competition. Much of this competition is from idiots who enter the market without figuring the costs and sell below what is profitable. They'll go out of business...but in the meantime they'll knock you out too. There is no shortage of these people.

On ebay all it takes is a few clicks to reverse engineer what someone is selling. A few minutes with Google is all it takes to find the dropshipper you're using and then compete with you.

You'll be competing with people who buy the same things you're selling as liquidated freight for pennies on the dollar. Their costs are ridiculously lower than yours.

All that being said, there are some really awesome ways to use dropshipping and ebay but they are beyond the scope of a forum post.

If you are entering a commodity business like dropshipping electronics or something...don't! Even the biggest sellers are often only working on 10% or lower profit margins. The best dropshipping scenario would be contracting to be an exclusive seller for a small company with unique products...no competition then.

                Please do not join doba.
Not worth the cost at all. The prices are too high and you will not make any money. Waste of money if you ask me.

I myself is confused if i will go for Doba or not. Many people say their good but many people also say Doba scam. Also, a friend of mine even said Doba's suppliers do not even update inventories so how can you trust them? I really don't know. I've read this Doba review though, it helped me a bit but i am still confused if Doba is reliable or not. Some of my friends are successful with Doba, some are not.

Hi Sam I am, Doba scam did not come from me first hand. I am just merely expressing what i have read on reviews so far. If Doba works for you, then great. Some people tend to say otherwise. I guess it all boils down on the person if she will be successful or not. Thanks for your opinion about Doba though but i still need to research more about them.

I do not recommend Doba. I wasted over $200 and I made zero money. A lot of ebay sellers are using doba so the competition is stiff. I have no idea how they are able to sell below the doba pricing. It just means that they are probably getting the wholesale somewhere else.

I just came across shopster.com. they give you 7 days trial period also and after you cancel, they can give you another additional 7 days without charging your credit card. I find their monthly charges too expensive.

I am not doing any kind of dropshipping or wholesale these days, but when I did I hate great success with China Wholesale: Buy Wholesale Products from China . Just make sure your seller has a good rep. Also, don't be conned into buying "replicas." There are tons of fakes on that site, but there are also some really good buys.

Also, you are better off having the products shipped to you and then you ship to the buyer. That way there are no delays and many of the sellers offer free shipping if you buy enough quantity.

I am a freelance Private Investigator. I cant tell you how many people have come to me through forums and such with horror stories of being scammed on that site. And I use the word scam in its entire meaning. It is nearly impossible to find the identity of your seller there, also. I can find the identity of just about anyone on Ebay and Amazon, but not dhgate. So, if you are scammed, you are pretty much out whatever you payed.

But, some of the items and prices look amazing! If I hadnt had so many 1st hand negative dealings with them, that would be the only place I shop.

I'm all for it. There have been plenty of times I have been tempted to buy something from dhgate. Go to Yahoo Answers and type in dhgate.com and look at the reviews and responses...a little too scary for me

China Wholesale: Buy Wholesale Products from China is a horror story. They sell too many fakes and their return policy sucks. The sellers always charge too much for shipping knowing fully well that if you wish to return their fakes that you will not get your shipping back. I suggest that you always purchase with your credit card company and demand your money back. You should also insist that they pay for sending the products back.

They are a disgusting group majority of them.

I bought a lot of products from different sellers who had a high "trust score" and never had any problem at all. All of my items were at my door within 7 days of placing the order and everything was very high quality. It works just like Ebay...there are some wonderful sellers and some not-so-wonderful ones.

You don't need Doba or WorldWide Brands or any of those other "pay-to-use" dropshippers.

Dropshipping has become a colloquialism. All you need to do is find a supplier with the product you want to sell (at a good price), put it up for auction on eBay, and sell it.

When you go back to your supplier to purchase the product, put your address under BILLING and your customer's address under SHIPPING.

        Viola! A dropshipper....

Happy for you. Dhgate has been a nightmare for me. I may have purchased approximately 20 things from different sellers, and I am only satisfied with two.

Take for example: I ordered 4 front lace wigs for a customer that does performance and needed them for a musical video. They sent junk and not front lace wigs. They will like to keep the shipping cost and at the same time give me partial refund of the sale price. This I consider to be ripoffs. They charged me about $40 each for shipping and at the same time shipped them all combined. This same seller was masquerading as four different sellers ids. My advise to people is keep away from dhgate. They will not give you a return address to return their item. Imagine offering me $10 as a partial refund from a $400 purchase. I do not think that I will allow them to have $160 in shipping for sending me wrong item and false advertisements. Make sure you use your credit card to purchase from them so you can at least have a fighting chance.

  • When I first started on ebay I found Doba. Don't waste your money. You will find that it gets very costly and the items are selling for a lot less on ebay itself. IMHO it's not worth it.

This shows how hard it is for someone to find a dropshipper. You may not have to go through Worldwide Brands (I'm a member) but it's not easy to find these companies.
It is best to stay away from anything electronics. You will lose your money. Accessories are a better option.
I have a list on my computer, I will try to find and post it here.

  • You can use Vaorcorp for fishing, hunting, and knives. They have great prices on leatherman tools!

compgallery is good for computer video games. I had some success using them on Ebay, but made really good money putting the products in my own oscommerce website and using adwords to drive traffic, and that was before I had a clue what I was doing...Man, I wish I could go back and do that one over with the knowledge I have now.

Anyway, dropshippers are out there. The problem is you have to troll through all the scam sites to find them. I would go to google and type "dropship program""application" just like that. You will have much better success finding a legit dropshipper...for free

Doba is really good. It has many products. Ebay recommends Doba so it is safe.
Just because ebay recommends something means squat!
They are earning money through that recommendation.

Do NOT buy into systems where you have to pay a monthly fee or membership fee to belong. Most of those places don't have good prices.

You are better off contacting a company / manufacturer who handles the product you want to sell and establish a relationship with them.
Just because a company doesn't advertises that they do drop shipping doesn't mean they don't - ask them. In this economy, you will be surprised.

Best place to find products - trade shows

Run a search on Google for trade shows and look at the web sites and subscribe to their magazines / newsletters
Merchandise Group - ASD/AMD Trade Shows

Their vendor list is worth gold
Start looking for the types of products you want to sell and contact them directly

Its all about connections. The wholesale world is very connected and they will refer you to someone else if they don't have what you need.

Do your homework and your profits will be bigger.

The same goes for ordering direct from China - don't do it unless you work with someone you can trust.
I just got off the phone with one of my friends who just returned from 6 weeks in China. He covered all the trade shows there and visited the factories - lots of new products coming out.
Once again you have to find someone you trust to work with.

Any of you with health and wellness sites who want to handle a new type of water bottle (I'll drop ship it for you) - pm me and I'll let you know more

People knew about doba like 5+ years ago and your profit margins are going to be very slim to none on ebay, dropshipping is a very risky thing and you can't 100% depend on a dropshipper to fulfill your orders and this can lead to lots of negativity from customers and negative feedbacks.

Try Drop Ship, Light Bulk, Liquidation and Import Wholesalers from Worldwide Brands! - Home Page they are more reputable.

    Cheers,
