How many subscribers do you suggest I have before I start doing Ad Swaps? I only have 40 subscribers so far, and should be running another solo ad pretty soon.

Also since I am buying solo ads how many subscribers should I expect per 100 clicks?Thank you.

  • You can swap even with smaller lists. Just make sure you can match your partners clicks. I would probably get you list up to 100 or so before swapping.

    • How many clicks do you think a list of 100 can get? Thank you.

  • It also depends on the niche you're in..MMO niche has a lower response than Lose weight niche. On 100 leads.. you can get anywhere from 5 to 10 even 20 clicks.
It all depends on you.. you can get even higher numbers...it all depends on your copywriting skills, on the funnel you created to get the leads...
I personally wouldn't start swapping before i would hit 500 leads at least. Why?
Because once i would start swapping the list would grow faster..because i would be able to send more clicks at once.. from one email. You don't want to bomb your list with 2-3 emails per day from the beginning..it will die before you can make anything with it...

  • Great information! Thank you.
  • I vote for NEVER.

Why do you want to give away your subscribers and have them on even more lists?

They likely already get too many emails as it is and you want to dilute their attention even more by giving them to someone else?

Meanwhile you get another marketers low quality subscribers that they can't make any money from (that's why they don't care about selling and swapping them).

You're all just swapping low quality subs around and around. Most of these people are likely freebie seekers who never take action or buy.

Work on building a quality list of subs and preferably a buyers list.
  • Dear, if you don't build relationship with your leads, but just do ad swap/solo instead, I will say CTR would be <5% (you send broadcast to 1000 leads and will expect to get max: 50 clicks)

Normally, you should wait until your leads number reach 1000 (2000 is preferred) before you start doing ad swap.
Reason: to assure you can get at least 1 complaint without any problems (most of Autoresponer service require complaint rate should be lower than 1/1000)
    Good luck!
  • Hello,
It actually depends on how we build relationship with our subscribers. In my starting days,I bought solos and had around 750 subscribers before swapping.I tested my list for click rate for two days.It was giving 30 clicks per mail. Then I started swapping as well to build list.I made it till 1200 subscribers in next 10 days with few product sales while swapping and re-invested the money back for solos.
Even I had the same question how much click rate & open rate do you expect and all..But no one can give exact answer for that.It depends on our marketing style and how we build relationship with the list seriously.Make sure you send mails to them everyday.I do mail to my list 5 times in two days time.People are signed up for so many lists. They will be getting lot of mails everyday. It won't work out well if you send only one or two mails everyday until you build relationship with them. Before I used to send 3 mails per day and now I am sending 5 per 2 days.It is working for so good. They believe me now
    Hope it helps you.
    Sorry for poor English
  • So are many of you saying that AdSwaps/Solo Ads don't work?
  • Get off this forum and go see for yourself if it works or not!
  • There's no set number. Focus instead on how responsive your list is. Pay attention to the IP trails of people who sign up via swaps. You might be surprised at what you'd find. Consider yourself warned.

Hint: the best way to grow a list is through your own content and networks.
