Is the new Microsoft Search Engine gonna benefit we warriors?

With Google taking long precedence in the search engine market,Microsoft has launched its own new search engine to beat the competition, bing.com

Is it gonna help us in our IM business in terms of pay per click and other sponsored ads? or is it just another old kid from the block.?I think Google has come to stay and take possession of this fierce search engine market.

Tell me what you think in terms of competitive advantage..i think google will remain top in years to come

I just wish that MSN would get more searches so that advertisers like us can get more clicks.

What ever they do to improve our clicks, that would be awesome.

Will just have to wait and see.

The searches themselves look alright to me, and I like the related searches, etc on the side. Whether they can overtake google is another thing. It just comes down to giving people incentive to switch. If Live is any indicator, their chances are low.

They mentioned quick viewing of videos as one of their competitive advantages to google it takes less time to load and view a video on bing than on google but i think in terms of content google will be at the forefront.Secondly msn is given so many related links to any search..lets watch and see how it goes..what is good for the goose is good for the gander..it should profit us warriors for it to succeed..thats my opinion

I don't think it is possible
to beat google at this point.

The generate more than 80% of all the search
traffic. Yahoo are yet to compete with them,
and they have been around for ages.

As for MSN, I don't see a light in the end of
the tunnel for those guys, sorry.

I think Microsoft will push back on the idea that Budda-Bing is a search engine.

It's supposed to be an information gathering tool.

The idea is that you don't get back a list of links to click, you get the info you requested right back in the Bing interface.

Or something. Terrible name, though. MS should hire Frank Kern to give 'em the old Mass Control treatment.

I'm seeing bing start to display in my referring site links - which is good. I've tried doing some searches with Bing and don't see the same results for google. I'm not sure what is driving placement and rank with bing. I suspect i'll need to pay more attention to meta-keywords, which google was ignoring and I have let slip.

My sites are locality focused (accommodation). Are you all looking at ways to optiomize locality for big? Google has started to make that much easier with the Local Business Center.

MS doesn't seem to understand that Google is much more than search. It's like they think they can put up a fight when they don't seem to get what they are fighting against. Or is Bing going to be more?

They have'nt gotten search right yet, how do they think they will now, just because they come up with a new name (I agree, seems an odd name), like they are re-inventing themselves? Why not fix what they already had in place? Put their money and resources into something that is already established.
