How Does this Make Money?

I use this as an example because I know a warrior owns it, however there are tons of sites like this: www.Shoeporn.com ...

The site is targeting a huge market; shoes

Apart from that the "long tail keywords" or landing pages are all for popular brand shoes that have thousands of ecommerce site competition.

Added to that the descriptions are just copy paste from e-commerce sites.

How does a site like this get traffic?

I cant see anyone finding this in SERPs searching for brand or model names of popular brand shoes, theres just too much comp.

It has a very weak Alexa score. Maybe it is an automated site that gets drips and drabs of traffic. Maybe the business model is to crate tons of these sites and aggregate all that random traffic into a decent income stream? There are other niches where people use a similar strategy.

    Probably an affiliate for 6pm.com

The owner gets commission for every sale.

Sites like these get most of their traffic from social media, blogs and forums.

I remember the Warrior who owns it showing me it some time ago and I believe she was doing quite well with it.

I think it would work better if it was niched down to focus on just womens shoes or even further on a specific type of womens shoes (I'm no expert of womens shoes so I don't know what type).

I could see a similar site that focuses on mens sports shoes / trainers / running shoes / whatever you want to call them doing quite well.

Lots of guys are obsessed with them and there's tons of blogs and sites in the niche.

Doing something that's really sociable and interactive and gets people sharing would work well IMO.

Shoesniper.com which allows you to search for specific types / colours / brands and shows the best prices from various retailers apparently makes over $10,000 per month.
