Hello Everyone!

A simple question: Which hosting is better for hosting a wordpress site, linux or windows?

    In my experience (and the majority of my friends), Linux is the way to go.

    Windows is hell to setup for WordPress. Permalinks DO NOT work out of the box and it's hard to ever get working. DON'T do it.

        Linux will be more stable and more compatible for your plugins. Windows will be better for pissing you off.

    Linux is better and have a deal with ifastnet.com.
    This company is trustworthy and their servers have no glitches plus there is a free firewall which blocks hacks to many popular scripts.

    I recommend running wordpress on a Nginx-powered application stack on Linux.

    Depending on you business needs, plugins and them, companies like Zippykid, WP Engine and others provide turn-key WP optmized hosting. These can be excellent for lower traffic (< 100K page views/mo) and light bandwidth blogs.

    If your site is more complex or you need more control, you can look into VPS/Cloud or dedicated services and setup your own server.

    In any case, you will likely be running on Linux.
