Clickbank Reporting Problems?

Hey, is anybody else experiencing clickbank reporting problems?

I track my links with bitly, and check my stats every couple of hours. My bitly clicks were going up, and i must have gotten over 20 clicks to my various hoplinks that clickbank did not report. This happened yesterday, and i waited for 12 hours to see if clickbank was just slow at updating, but it is now a new day and they still did not show up.

What should i do now?

    Sometimes they do a periodic maintainance, so you might not be able to see the clicks. You can wait for 48 hours, and then everything will return back to the normal.

    In general, you will see the clicks in their analytics tab within 2-3 hours.

      Usually I don't sweat it because it's due to some sort of delay, but on my account it says it was updated 2 hours ago???

          Same here, zero for today and very low for yesterday, but I got a sale so it's all good Says its updated but its not.

            That's re-assuring I guess.

            The only reason why I'm worried is because I average around 4-5 sales per day and I haven't seen a single sale since it went down last night.

            Does it say on your screen that it was updated 2-3 hours ago?

              I have almost zero hops after this issue started and it's almost 48 hours now. I hope they have not messed up the affiliate links, but it looks kind of that, if you just suddenly lose sales

          It happens like that once in a while. If this is the first time you are seeing that, don't be afraid. You will get your hop links once their maintenance is done.
          For me, I experience the same thing since yesterday and I have my account credited with sales both yesterday and even till now. So that is what is matter... They will update the hop links once they are done... No loss!

    Hops haven't refreshed, I have zero and I made three myself a few hours back. I also have some weirdness related to the sales, I'm sure it will all be sorted out.

    Just an update, so far the hops and sales etc are still weird, saying i have only had one hop and no sales, but the dashboard is showing sales. I think that something is going on with updates or maintenance as the sales are showing up late.

    Can anyone else offer information with there stats?

  • Good to know it's not just me. Ridiulously low hops for me too. 13 yesterday (1 sale) and zero today. All sites still sending lots of traffic and hops so something wrong their end.

    As a long-time affilaite I'm used to CB ripping me off sales every now and again. They have patches every few months when the reporting breaks down. Coincidentily it always happens at the same time as I get NO sales, go figure. Just part of the business.

    Sales still ticking over fine this end. I always find delays occur on the analytics. But if you're seeing sales/commissions then nothing to worry about. Clickbank WON'T be ripping you off.

            Yeah, I got a very apologetic email from Clickbank after submitting a support request.

            I have found that sometimes when things get screwed up with analytics I won't see sales and then I'll have a banner day.

            Not much we can do but to hang tight and wait for the to fix stuff.

      yeah, it's still jacked up but don't worry. Everything always turns out fine in the end.

      Honestly, Clickbank is one of the most honest companies that I've ever done business with. A year or two ago, a vendor's site got hacked. Sales dried up for me overnight and I knew there was something wrong. I contact CB and let them know what I had found. You'd click through and it would be the same affid at the bottom of the checkout page.

      I thought that those sales were lost. About 4 weeks after the incident, I received a check from CB explaining what had happened and that they had calculate that this was the amount for sales that had been stolen from me by the hacker. It was a good sum of money.

      From then on out I trust these folks and I know that even when things get messed up, they try to make it right since they do have a proprietary tracking system that goes beyond just cookies... or so I've been told. At least they try...

        That's good..that means we don't need to worry on our link been "hack"? even if yes..click bank will automate find out and compensate? problem is..who knows the hacking is big and it does take time to compensate back ..

          Well , im having the same problem, a low click in the hop links, but in my hostgator page i see a lot of people coming to my website! i wrote to clickbank, but they doesnt work on weekends. i make like 4 sales at day and i have 2 days with out sales!!! OHH CLICKBANK GOD , HELP ME!!!!

            I know... we're all freaking out....

            They're working on analytics or there's some sort of problem with tracking. There isn't a whole lot we can do other than to pray that they figure it out in a timely fashion.

            I've seen this in the past and things always have a way of working out plus worrying about it doesn't accomplish much. I know this is easy for me to say while I sit here freaking out and getting depressed at the same time... but it is what it is...

    What a relief to see this, I had some media buy campaigns i just started, tested for 2 days and it was working good so I up the budget for 3rd day ( the 14th ) and nothing, not even hops, It was driving me crazy !

    Do they usually compensate when it's like this ? Because I have stats on my cpvlab of how it performed the 2 first days and 0 on the 3rd day where I sent more of the traffic!

    I am trying to put a product on Clickbank, but can't do a test purchase. When I go to a normal Clickbank product, the payment links seem to be broken. That might be why you are seeing no money.

      That's really bad. For affiliates who see no sales, I think one of the best ways to test if to buy the product through your own hoplink and see if the sales is tracked, if not then that's really bad and should inform CB.

    I have been having problems with Clickbank since around 2/5! I was getting consistent multiple sales every day for months. Now nothing. Not only am I not getting sales since 2/5, the hops are about the same since when things were going good... something just doesn't make sense.

      yeah... all sorts of weird stuff is going on. I managed to squeak out 1 sale today. Analytics don't show the order form impression but they show the sale... weird.

      Things have been off for me also... I've gotten blanked a bunch of days since the 5th and then when analytics were working on the 12th I got a bunch of sales

          Yes, I got a nice and very apologetic email back from support saying that their IT department was working on things.

          I also had a couple of sites drop off after an update and lost one old traffic source where I had probably 100 or so articles published... some of which were ranking really well for some buyer keywords so, for me, it's probably a combination of a lot of things that are leading to my demise.

      Are you a vendor or an affiliate?

      I do have one product that I'm a vendor for but it doesn't make much in the way of sales so I didn't think of checking that...

      Most of my money comes from affiliate sales and I have a few good products that I promote. I used to be able to almost count on at least a couple of sales a day when I had sites that were ranking well but that hasn't been the case lately.

      Now with analytics all messed up... honestly, I'm getting so frustrated and it's looking like I might have to throw in the towel on this dream of doing affiliate marketing and start looking for a job...

    I'm an affiliate, I'm new to this. I have like one year in this business, and I'm really not making as much money as I need. I'm a an industrial engineer but in my country there are very few job positions. To me, it's not an option to stop working on clickbank. The truth is that I have many problems with SEO. I need to learn more about this business, for $ 100 per day, I will be happy. In my country, things are very cheap!!

      I just did a test sale for the product that I'm a vendor for and it all went through fine.

      There's no way for me to check an affiliate sale though without forking over money and I can't afford that right now

          They'll reply. I have found their support to actually be pretty good when I was having a problem that was specific to just me. For a system-wide problem, you'll probably just get something back saying that they're aware of the problem and that they're working on it.

          I worked help desk for a few years and although this might sound like a cop out from their support, there's not much support can do other than to let you know that the problem is being worked on.

      It looks like they're working on it now. Stats show "down for maintenance" and updated time is Feb 14 so that's a good sign.

      Not necessarily, at this scale it is more than likely the stats from the day and those of the past days are compiled in separate databases and treated separately, so you can see a sale that happened now, but the stats from all last week during the bug are still not treated and displayed correctly !

      I still don't see my hops from last week, so here it is still not fixed, probably a lot of crons running right now over there at clickbank

    I'm purely an affiliate and have had Analytics issues for a few days, showing zero hops for some days. They seem to be sorted in the last hour or so and reporting what I'd expect including the proper amount of hops for those past days.

      Agree. My traffic and hops have been consistent for weeks and have 0 sales for several days after getting multiple sales every day. Something just doesn't add up.

    I did submit 2 tickets to which they are fairly good at responding to, and have yet to see a response to either... which is a good sign that they don't have good answers yet and/or still scrambling to fix the problem(s).

      What did they say, if you don't mind me asking? I usually get the same "we are aware of the issue and our IT department is working to resolve the problem..."

        They tried to tell me that because my traffic was down, so are sales. Which is not true. Although traffic had dipped slightly, the traffic has been steady and was making multiple, consistent sales every day with that same traffic. Then, sales all of a sudden have stopped and I mean stopped.

        I know there is something definitely wrong, but obviously it's hard to prove otherwise.

          Yep... hard to explain that to them and I got the same sort of reply back to my ticket in addition to:

          "Thank you for your inquiry. Previously, the Analytics was reporting more sales than the Transactions Page, so you may have seen some discrepancies. The issue has not affected the way we track but only the way the information was provided within the account.

          For what vendor/product do you feel there is a discrepancy for? For what time period? Normally, what would you say the conversion rate is compared to what it is now?"

            I do think that they're trying to weed out hops recorded from bots and this might be why I see my hops swinging high and low but there's no way for me to prove that or force anyone to do anything about it. It's just a theory of mine...

Although traffic had dipped slightly, the traffic has been steady and was making multiple, consistent sales every day with that same traffic. Then, sales all of a sudden have stopped and I mean stopped.

          I know there is something definitely wrong, but obviously it's hard to prove otherwise.

          I'm not sure whether I'm correct or not but probably some affiliate links must have gone to 'reset affiliate to none' mode or whatever, after that technical issue. I think it's a good idea to create those affiliate links again, that stopped creating sales, and see whether there are any changes. it's not going to be an easy job though.

            Have things improve any for anyone that was formerly having problems?

            I talked with a vendor that I know and I asked him how things were going. He said that things have been bad for him too and even a buddy of his who has a top CB product that he's the vendor on said that sales were down about 60%

    Some of the CB old timers may remember a similar issue from way back in Feb 2008 that caused an outage with seemingly lost sales and related problems. That was the era of "tracking issues" -- 2008/2009 -- which I figured were fixed by about 2010.

    FWIW I remember my early days between 2006-2008 when I used to work to the bone trying to eke out a hard living through SEO traffic. And then I'd come to the forums and hear stuff about tracking problems, low hops, zero sales, the whole doom-and-gloom rigamarole.

    Depressing, dark days.

    As of now (Feb 2014), I am seeing sales though of course, not at the usual levels, but they haven't dried up completely (touch wood, fingers crossed).

    I really trust and believe that CB is just as keen to fix this as we are. I say this as someone who has seen the terrible lows and euphoric highs of being a CB affiliate.

    Just got to hang on now till things are back on track.

    They said only the analytics was affected, the sales and dashboard were not, so 0 sales where on the same volume I did 3 and 5 sales the 2 days before and with same traffic ... anyway :/

        I think they outsource some of their support but that's basically the same sort of reply that I got.

    I've asked in the past to support and they say "They do regular maintenance and stats could differ from yours." After awhile they correct and stats add up. Just checked my and all fine! - Give it a week and see what happens? If not I would contact.

    Don't even try to contact them guys, we all get same response. The thing is, someone is shaving here, it absurd, same hops no sales for a week. It'd frustrating, hopefully we will get out of this trouble. Seems not all affiliates got affected by this, so we are the unlucky gruop selected by CB. Finger crossed!

    The thing about clickbank I hate is if you use private browsing or incognito in chrome or firefox. "no affiliate" will register on checkout so no $$ for you.

    Same with mobile or tablet apps for private browsing.

    UPDATE: CB is working perfectly fine. I did a test purchase using my own hoplink and it was captured by CB instantly! So it's all good, it's just a rare zero sales day.

    I am facing problem too. On my analytics page, my tracking IDs are not appearing. I had created tracking ID for every single hoplink I put on the internet, but they are nowhere here on the ClickBank analytics page. But when I click on the customer ID and vendors, then it is pretty Ok!
