Content Amount before launch

Hello Warriors,

I have finished designing my niche site, and have a few posts or here there, but am wondering whether "launching it" (start getting links/promoting the site/etc) without a lot of content will just hurt me.

The site is aimed at becoming an authority site with latest news, niche product reviews, user interaction, etc.

Any insight would be great!

You can start doing that right away with a single post. As new posts get added, Google will see activity on your site and crawl it more often.

You won't be penalized for having a new site with little content. Especially if it is active with new content appearing on a regular basis.

I always thought that it was important to have content before getting links.
    All the best. Regards.

If you've got a little bit of good stuff on there, I don't see any reason NOT to launch it. You could always write a little introduction post that explains what your site is about and how often it will be updated. That way, when people visit it for the first time, they'll know more good info is being added on a regular basis.

    Good luck!!

You can 'soft launch' it now with just a few links and promos, then in say a month's time when it's a lot more populated with content you can promo it again.
Seen this technique in the past and it can be very effective.

Unless you buy paid traffic (or get extremely, extremely lucky), it's not likely that you are going to immediately get tons of traffic from organic efforts.

One big mistake that many make is trying to get their site perfect before marketing it. So they wind up with lots of good content that no one sees because they never get around to the marketing of the content.

My thought would be to get a few valuable posts up and start marketing it. If you are building a list then visitors can be reminded to come back as more content is added.

I think launch nit, as long as the content is good quality. Having little content, may not be such a bad thing. Your subscribes, can start telling you what there concerns and needs are. And you can structure follow up content based on their request. Good luck
