Where can I find info about making money off of different kinds of websites?

I want to learn more about the money behind different kinds of websites- poll websites, forums, video sharing sites, sportscasting sites, fileshare/download websites, wallpaper websites (particularly interested), yellowpages-type sites, link sharing websites, membership content websites etc etc.

I want to hear from the people that started them, how much traffic they are getting, how easy it was to get the traffic/members, how much advertising they are using, what kinds of advertising, other sources of revenue, how much they are making, etc. Maybe case studies is the right word.

I looked over the WF room options and can't find anything like this which is surprising to me. sure there are a few "oh I have this site with this traffic, how do I monetize it.", but thats about all I found. It seems to me (though I am a newbie), that this is a huge portion of people that are making money online. Is there some forum or resource anywhere like the one I am describing?

This kind of information is what people sell, and rightly so.

I'm going to take all my years of hard work and just hand you the results?

    That's not how it works.

    I agree with Brent.

No one will tell you what niche is profitable. When someone finds a profitable niche they just go ahead to do it. You will find a lot of proofs on traffic techniques, website types or other thing but all these are to sell the products. So you have to spend your time to learn or spend money to gain from time in order if you want to learn.

Better consider buying a coaching program about internet marketing in order to learn about how to proceed. It will clear your mind and save you months of struggle.

You really need to search on it. You have to choose what you really like and learn how to market your product online. At first it is really hard. Many scams online but there are lots also which are really working. Be careful in joining sites. Better to choose one and focus.

If people are searching it - there's ways to monetize it - just have a look at the ads that come up when you type your term into Google, they're all paying for each click so (most of the time) it'll be profitable.

I think it's the same basic strategy as any website, but have a look at this website (if you haven't already) as it's got some good actionable points:

(that's not mine - wish it was though)

I've taken a lot away from there.

Shouldn't be too hard. We are now in the third generation of fake gurus. The profit per fake guru is quite a bit less than the first two generations though. Nowadays it's about making up a bunch of malarkey that sounds fancy and publishing fake monthly income reports. That's what draws the gullible newbies in.
