Using Surveymonkey, but only the Free version (limited) but 1 + years, long term ?

Survey monkey is a great too to ask and survey your list, with many payment options.

There is also a free option, which can still be used with limited features.

Does anybody use this free option only, and have been for 12 months, even more for their surveys with success? (perhaps you are just using it to a smaller list of people) ?

  • We never use free versions of "anything" for the long haul. Especially tools such as survey monkey. These versions exist mostly as a lead generator. (I.E if you survey 100 people, they all see a link at the end to try survey monkey, etc... for which you don't get a commission if they sign up). The free version is also somewhat limited in features such as only 10 questions per survey and 100 responses per survey.

100 responses means only a maximum of 100 subscribers can reply to the survey correct?

Do you mean this can cause the subscribers doing the survey to go to the link, and consider using survey money?

and does the paid version Not have this link?

  • Yes 100 responses = 100 people max. And yes, the paid versions on the higher end have a
Custom "thank-you" page option, and also a Custom redirect at the end of the survey completion, so that you can control the traffic at the end, and send the traffic back to you, instead of your traffic going off to try survey monkey.

If the paid version is used, where is an efficient place to redirect the traffic to?

a product, or offer related to the questions asked?

and in the paid version, if you have a 12 question survey, where each question has 4 answers,
these 4 answers per questions can all be tallied up in a tally chart, so you can view easily which of the 4 answers is more popular visually, per question.

Is this feature available on the free version ?

I would offer some type of incentive for completing the survey, and then at the end send them there. Maybe something like a free download. Something that makes it worth their time. This will also increase your response rate, and less people will drop out of your survey. Especially if its a lengthy survey.

The paid versions on the higher end allows you to filter and cross tabulate responses and create custom charts.

Is this feature available on the free version ?
No, the free version has no analysis features whatsoever.

I've used Surveymonkey from time to time for more than 7 years.

What I do is pay the monthly fee only when I run a survey, then cancel, then pay the monthly fee again when I have another survey to run, then cancel.

What's interesting is that this maintains the same account. However, if you had a survey with 500 responses, let's say, when you're in free mode you can only get access to 100 of those responses until you pay the monthly fee again. So you have to make sure you download all your data before your one paid month is up.

        Works for me.
