6 weeks of research, this is what i have come up with

As a newbie to IM, I decided to read, read, and when I got sick of reading I read a bit more. I think they call it research, luckily I found WF in time to help me out

To put you in the picture, that was 6 weeks ago,

I had no idea what I was going to do to start an on line business, what to sell, what to promote, my product, other peoples product, how much money to spend etc, the list goes on.

This is my idea on what I have in mind to get myself started.

I like the idea of having many websites , my target is 25 sites in the first year.

A membership site - I like the idea of having one of these, but I understand they are expensive to set up, what are the set up cost for one of these?

Each site would offer a load of free information, lets use 'coaching kids soccer' as that is my passion. I would then offer a clickbank product, maybe 2 and possibly create my own ebook on the subject or out sorce it to someone who can write, (definatly not my strong point).

I guess content is the major factor in this, I have found 2 sites that look interesting,

Monthly content.com - this is run by fellow warrior Ryan Even's. he is offering a WSO membership for $15 a month which looks good value.

Easyplr.com - this looks good because you can buy what you want, when you need it.

Are there any others that offer a similar service? Are there any better ones out there?

To promote my websites I would do the following.

Blog
Submit articles to ezinearticles.com and goarticles.com
Use ebay

Any other suggestions?

In 12 months time when I need to renew my domain names 25+, wont that be expensive,
what are the alternatives? subdomain etc. not sure about this one.

I was thinking of using Hostgator for my hosting, but for no extra cost 'monthly content.com' is offering this service on a dedicated server, and I can have 50 sites on this, sounds good, but are there any advantages or disadvantages to this?

SO, IN A NUTSHELL

Become a member of, let say monthly content.com (that will take care of the content, hosting) $15 p/m
Build 25 sites over a 12 month period.
Submit blogs, articles etc
Get an ebook written for me for each subject, (this depends on cost)

All this should cost me less than $20 per month plus costs for a writer

I appreciate there are a lot of questions here, but if all you experienced warriors could spent a little time in answering these it would help an awful lot of us newbies and put us on the right track.

So come on fellow warriors, hit me with your thoughts, your input would be very much appreciated. POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

      Simon,

I would say start with the football site as that is your passion and will be the easiest to get going with. Once that is becoming established then move on to making the other sites you have in mind. You can use the revenue from the football site to fund the memberships you want and other services you will want to outsource.

    Hi,

I wouldn't suggest to build that many sites. In IM it's not about quantity, but quality. You will not be able to do proper maintenance in the first place, let alone all the marketing activities to keep all 25 sites growing and building back-links, traffic etc.

Set your goal to let's say, 5 sites in a years time or so - it's a realistic goal.

Article writing, eBook creation etc. I think would cost you a whole lot more than 20 bucks a month for 25 sites...

Thanks for taking the time to answer my thread, means a lot.

encouraging to hear that i am on the right track.

I thought that the idea was to automate as much as possible, thats why i thought having 25 sites or so would not be too time consuming. maybe a rethink on that number.

thanks for the input SpicyRobbie- $20 would get me started with hosting and some content
the idea is to have first site paying for the 2nd site and so on, i got no idea what a writer will cost to write articles or produce an ebook for me, but i hear what your saying,

I might look at plr products and have a go at rewriting some of it myself, have to see what happens with that idea.

Any other warriors like to chip in with some advice?

I could do with some answers to the questions i have posed

Go with 1 site at a time, get it running and earning and by doing that you will learn what you can do yourself and what you need to outsource to get the others up and running. Once you figure out a system that works for you just rinse and repeat.

One thing I would make sure to do though is to get separate domains for each site. That way you can sell them off individually if you want to later on down the road. I know you might not be thinking along those lines now but you never know what's going to happen or where life will take you!

All's good so far. The first website's the hardest, so don't rush into too many websites in the same time. Once you've established the first one (you'll learn a lot by developing the first), you'll start developing and selling websites in no time. check your PM please.

I would build four sites at a time. Basically, prewrite content (10 pages each site or 40 articles total) and everyday spend an hour promoting them.

If you want to list build from scratch, find some other folks in your niche doing the same thing and offer a "JV" email autoresponder in which all authors contribute some work.

Believe it or not it works. You build your list off of other people's list AND have the ability to sell products. The key is to find those in your niche that are willing to join up forces with you.

Personally, although I have a blog, I don't find them to be super good as revenue producers and many bloggers get trapped with that "rat on a wheel" mindset and find it necessary to post daily....wrong move if you are trying to generate revenue. You may get readers but you won't get rich. The key is to get organic result listings.

If you don't know how, you can PM and I will try to walk you through it.

25 is a lot, although if you did substantial outsourcing for management and content creation, you could have that many in a year. You want to concentrate on good quality sites, rather than just throwing up a bunch of sites. If you're doing your own, do your research, especially if you're trying to get sustained, organic SE traffic (and you should be). Choose your keywords, titles and content based upon your research, don't just wing it. Often there will be a huge difference in the number of searches performed and competitors for two keyword phrases that are virtually identical. If you didn't do any research and just built and titled your page, you could pick the wrong one. Same is true for your anchor text in your back links; make sure you choose carefully.
                    Quality content rules.
