TeeSpring + Website = ?

So if you guys don't know what TeeSpring is. It's a website where you can quickly create some T-Shirts to promote and sell. The thing is, you don't ever have to touch them. You can set your goals, and pricing. It's pretty awesome actually.

My question would be, do you think it's feasible to make a T-Shirt site in a certain niche and just promote your teespring shirts? Or am I missing a part of the puzzle?

    You mean like an ecommerce store only for people that loved terriers and then that only sold t-shirts?

    Seems a bit too small of a market...

    There is a reason people try to monetize their niches with more than just one hyper-targeted product.

    Another thing is that, in this particular case, along with the huge handicap of just one monetization method, I can't think of any real benefit to just selling T-Shirts to a specific niche market.

    But then again, I could be wrong.

    Might not hurt to test it.

      If you have a following as an artist, and you could create in essence limited edition T-Shirts, I would say that might be an angle.

      If you are joe somebody in a niche, I just don't know. Technically if you are already involved in the niche, and you had the traffic to do so I would try 1 first, and then try 2. There is just going to be that point when all of them do not get to print, and you don't make money.

      I would try a shirt of the month club or the like maybe. AGAIN only if I was involved in the niche and had a traffic following that would at least indicate selling so many shirts per month. I am thinking .5% conversion maybe so to sell 200 shirts you would need 40,000 people in front of the offer.

      That's some serious traffic needed!

    This could be very feasible or not. It really depends on what you want to do and what your special angle would be.

    The main problem with teespring is that you need a minimum order size (campaign size). There are other similar sites that do not have a limit on the order size.

    Maybe it would be better to test your ideas with a different tshirt site that lets you order 1 shirt per design and when your ideas looks like it works you can switch to teespring to increase your profit. One site that has no order limit is skreened.com. There are probably many more, that's the one that I happen to know.

      Strange I had a similar idea yesterday and was about to post to ask for opinions and i see this thread.

      In my case, I have a store on Skreened with about 30 designs. And I intend on adding regularly to those designs.

      I want to take my skreened store to a different domain, still working out how to do it. Reasons are simple, I just have to design and market. However, I cannot promote my FB and twitter page through Skreened hosted store.

      Also, another problem is I have a domain + webhosting account for which i am
      paying monthly, without getting anything in return. Plus a MagentoGo store monthly fee for a store idea that didnt work out some months back.

    I sat in on a class about this. The presenter had great success with it. But he did admit that he had fanbase of over 100,000, went through around 30 failed designs and ran ads for them on Facebook.

    Of course, the nice thing about tee-spring is if you don't meet your goal, then you don't owe them any money. (of course, you will need money ads for the designer and the ads.)

    Well, surely you can make product image for a site but obviously you need to have those physical product ready when some one will purchase.

    This seems feasible but it would really depend on how much traffic you could drive to the site in order to actually make it profitable. I think that you would have to use paid methods (similar to simply advertising on FB as most do) to generate enough traffic to see any real success. But, again, it definitely seems workable.
