Is that a question or a statement?

Having Google authorship will not increase visitors!

It's actually one of the best way to improve your website visibilities and traffic at the same time.

As an author, I avoid "Google Authorship." It is a way of tracking you, and often you don't always want that. Like if you post an off-topic subject, write a book in a different area of interest, or use the connected email address for something unrelated. Once you are hooked into the Google Author matrix, your identity is locked in and you lose freedom of choice.

Normally, you don't want your picture and details popping up everywhere. You want to be able to select the context for yourself, not leave it to the whims of Google. My advice: avoid Google Authorship.

In addition, I also think that using authorship is an easy way for Google to track all your guest posting and discredit the links.

I still advise using authorship on your own main site, but for guest posts, don't.

Just playing Google's Advocate here (can we coin that term instead of devil's advocate?)... if it's quality content that you are proud of, there's no reason you wouldn't want your name and picture associated it. Okay, I'm done playing advocate! Just presenting the flip side!

By itself, no. There's a small perk of having google authorship, but dont expect 1,000's of visitors overnight.

Google authorship is never going to provide you loads of traffic. I think it does not have too much to do with traffic or ranking.
