I need a wordpress exit popup plugin

I'm looking for a wordpress popup plugin that can make a window popup when the the user intends to leave. (move their mouse toward the back button)

Not when they click the back button. The only one I've seen that can do this is Opt-in Monster; but they want $199 for the plugin. Anyone know of one that can do this? (cheap or free)

Thx

  • I found this old thread for you, which references this solution: ExPop: Unblockable DHTML Exit Popups (Hover Ads)
  • That's called a DHTML Exit Popup. Your options are extremely limited, it appears. Most options out there are actually Exit Redirect Popups.

    • Hi Jesus,

It's not just DHTML, the sales page also says it has a Wordpress plugin.

  • Please use optimize press... You can easily do a exit pop with this premier theme and many other things too... It's $297 for unlimited sites and many features you will like. Check it out for yourself!

    • I'm happy with the theme I have, I'm just looking for a exit popup plugin with certain features.

    • This is a great plugin! Highly recommend!

  • I would suggest Ninja Popup as well. You cant beat the amount of features it has for the low price it sells for, imo.
  • I use PopUp Domination on one of my wordpress sites. Very good plugin. Check it out.
  • Haven't investigated whether it has the pre-exit feature, but I have a copy of WPSubscribers somewhere collecting dust, bought it awhile back and have yet to actually use it... might be worth looking into tho.
  • Just a heads up, the ninja plugin will only work when someone clicks the back button. I want to capture them like the expop software.

    • You can do it with googleapis and play with the code,
or have someone do it for you. As of a plugin
there is popup domination, but not sure if it does
      this or not.

I found this exit redirect plug in here on the WF..
Alternatively, you can just use Optimize Press

    Hope it helps

  • Have you tried Popup Domination?
  • My husband and I just released a new free WordPress popup plugin with exit-intent, it's called PopupAlly. Check it out here and download the free WordPress popup plugin directly, and let us know what you think, too!

    • Looks like a nice plugin, thanks for your offer. Did you share this in the War Room?

      G.
    • I'll ne downloading and using this one Plus going through your list building course/challenge... it's time to build a list i say!
  • Please stop recommending Popup Domination - as of today, it does not work with the current version of WP. The images on the popup are broken and support DOES NOT RESPOND.

    • Thanks for the advice, I'm looking for a popup tool for my website too.

    • Someone posted a link to this post that I am currently working my way through:
67 Tools That Will Help You Grow Your Email List

Tried Ninja Popup - You cannot change the fonts and the ones used are less than motivating. I only want it to display in specific pages, which it is supposed to do, but doesn't. It's been 3 days and no refund has been processed.

HybridConnect - Nice templates and says you can change everything to get the look/feel you want. Yes you can, but it's time consuming and somewhere along the line things got wonky. If you change the template, all your text is gone, which means you have to start over. Upon entering the lightbox settings, realized there is no exit pop. Trying to get a refund and they're making me jump through hoops to get it. If you use a cc outside of PayPal to pay for the product, you'll have a hard time finding your transaction id. I had to call PP to get it and they told me there is no point in requiring it because it's not sent to the buyer and it won't match the buyer's. Gave it to them anyway and still no refund.

OptinMonster - My next option to try. I would like to just try the Basic to see if it will do what I need, but that option does not include an exit pop. These guys are AWESOME - answered all my question in less than 1 hour. Unfortunately, I had decided to try Pippity because they provide an exit pop at the basic price. EXCEPT - when I purchased and upgraded to the Pro so I could use the exit intent, they stopped being so timely with tickets and finally refunded my purchase instead of fixing the exit intent.

Pippity - Very well documented system and all the functions work well to produce a beautiful popup. Unfortunately, the exit pop isn't working and there is nothing in their documentation to tell me why. Opened 3 tickets on multiple issues with no response after 24 hours. Refunded my purchase instead of fixing the issue.

All this trial and error leave me with money out-of-pocket because NOBODY seems to be able to respond to support tickets in a timely manner, if ever. Sometimes I HATE working on the 'net due to the frustrations.

I also realize that many of the issues with popups may be due to using the WP platform. They would probably work better on a static site without the WP loop and plugin conflict issues. Just had a thought.... maybe, just maybe... one of those OLD popup programs I have laying around on my hard drive would work!!
    • Even though this says it hasn't been updated for 2 years I am running Wordpress 4.0 and it works great.

  • Here is a good one I have used. It's $77 for unlimited personal sites - Exit Popup Plugin for WordPress | wppopupmagic.com
  • Hi

this simple exit popup code you can use ..

  • Believe it or not - the free plugin "Popup Ally" worked as an exit intent.

None of the high-priced, pretty template-based software worked on my site!!
  • Anyone knows if Ninja Popup is compatible with OptimizePress?

I have both, and it doesn't seem to work. I did a search on this topic & apparently it doesn't.

    Anyone knows?
  • I use Ninja Popups for my optin popups.

Personally I removed the exit popup because I found there were to many popups on my blog so it was anoying.

They have some pretty good templates, and some that I didn't like.

You can customize a part of the templates but not as much as I would have liked.

For $20 I believe it is a good investment.

    Cheers,
    Esteban Gomez

  • I use a plugin called "WP No Escape". It's very easy to set up and does exactly what you need. You can probably find this available for free somewhere if you do a search. There are lots of marketers who give it away in exchange for an opt-in.

I just did a quick search and came up with lots of places to download it for free. Also, I found a few videos on YT that show a demo. Here's one:

Free Wordpress Plugin - WP No Escape - YouTube
  • As Terril, I have also a copy of WPsubscribers and started using two days ago. It is not cheap, but it gives more than exit popup. You can use not only the typical text exyt popup, but complete html exist pop up ,with images, It allows Post optin forms, header optin forms, footer, custom....

For me at least, works nicely with email services (I have try ir with Getresponse with no issues).
I has also analytics so you can see the results of your opt-in pop ups (Looks good but I need more time to give my opinion here...)
  • Wp Exit Pop is the one I'm using
  • I heard good things about Ninja Popups (not using it myself)

WordPress - Ninja Popups for WordPress | CodeCanyon

    And it's only 20 bucks

    Cheers

  • I use exit rescue which is a wordpress plugin and i have had lots of success with it! Hope this helps
  • Hey Ron,

You can use numerous inexpensive Exit Intent Widgets. I saw one on this website Plancessjee.com which was impressive. Might want to check it out.
  • I've not used this one, but heard that WP Webcaster is good. I think it is the video types pop up.

    • as looking for one too, found this one

while the plugin is free, the "behaviour trigger" add-on - with exit intent - is only $19

      Icegram

looks like a cool plugin overall anyway.
  • +1 on the Ninja popup, currently using it on my site. Needed some support at the beginning (which I got), and all is fine since.

  • I was looking for the same thing.

This is free and easy to use. Search the WP plugins for WBounce

You can choose which pages / posts it goes on. You can choose if visitors only see it once or only once per day or every time etc.

Works when they go to leave the page.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Hey,

Lots of input on this thread.....but listen.

Loads of people are TURNED OFF by exit popups....they do work on a % of readers, but they annoy a lot of them as well.

NOTE: not ALL of those people who are leaving are rejecting your message.

You don't want to tick them off just because they are not ready to jump at that moment.

    Have a brilliant day,

  • I've been using Optimonk and really like it.
  • I found a free WP plug-in about 2 months ago which I really like :

    Yeloni Exit Popup

It only appears as an attempt is made to leave the page but does not force the visitor to click anything to leave the page or post if they really want to leave (a less aggressive exit pop-up).
